About this app

The Cognitive Styles Test is meant for personal assessment to provide a guide to help you improve your life and your relationships.

By examining your thinking styles, you can learn to change them which can reduce negative emotions and reaction. In addition, you can improve your self-esteem and your relationships.

The app includes articles written by a cognitive-behavioral clinical psychologist to help you understand the process of cognitive therapy and how to use the methods.

This is a 110 item test examining 13 styles of thinking that can lead to problems in relationships, problems at work or in school, and problems coping with life stressors.

This psychological test can tell you the thinking styles that cause you to act and feel the way you do. By learning what types of cognitive styles you have, you can determine what types of irrational thinking you are likely to engage in. Certain irrational thinking will create additional life problems or make it difficult to solve the problems you are confronted with.

This app is meant to be used with the Cognitive Diary in the CBT Tools for Healthy Living app in which you record events that occur and determine if you engaged in any irrational thinking. If you did, it helps you to develop some statements to challenge the thinking.

Once you have developed the cognitive challenges you can review them daily to help you remember to challenge the irrational thinking.

By challenging your irrational thinking you can address problems more effectively. Change your mood and behavior by changing your thinking.

I read a few of the articles and am impressed by their completeness, clarity and detail, yet easily understood, quick to read and right to the point. I appreciate the emphasis on the importance and necessity of practice, also the explanation of the willingness to explore, discover and challenge thoughts, find a better way and then document. The how, what, why, where and when were covered, (the "who" being me 🤗). Not a quick fix, but a hope that work and changed thinking will yield a better life

It is obvious that after 20 plus years of using CBT, the psychologist has treated so many different patients and so much time has passed that she has had time to reshape this psychological solution to suit their and her own needs. The fact that her current teaching of CBT matches nearly word for word what I learned in a recent course at UCSF under Dr. Satterburg, with all the most up-to-date research, serves as evidence the model is legit. It passes the test for reliability across time.

I have never thanked developers of any app until NOW! What a positive life changing experience this is! For every question I ever had about ME, this app allowed ME to get the answers, will assist me to get better and will also give me tools to use for the rest of my life FOR FREEEEEE!! I am sick of downloading all these "self help apps" that appear to be life changing BUTTTTT ........ "THAT WILL BE $90.00/A YEAR!!" and I uninstall them! Not this one!
