MessagEase is a VERY different keyboard, unlike any keyboard you’ve seen or experienced before. It's NOT a QWERTY keyboard! So If you are looking for yet another QWERTY keyboard with bells and whistles, MessagEase is not what you are looking for!

MessagEase is based on many years of scientific research; it uses letter frequency and di-gram data to optimize the position of letters and characters on a novel keyboard with fewer, larger buttons. (That’s why the letter positions are NON-QWERTY!)

This novel letter position is often very shocking--even intimidating--at first. But persevere and soon you'll find it intuitive and very practical.

MessagEase keyboard also includes word prediction. To keep the package light, the word lists required for word prediction is provided in separate modules that you download optionally. Please long press on Hand and then go to Settings > Languages & Keyboards > Word Prediction for how to set it up.

Please also note that you can change the keyboard size by dragging up/down on the Hand button. You can also reshape and recolor the keyboard in various ways. See Settings for details. You can also change the font used for the keyboard; you can even re-assign new characters or hide and remove some of the characters: yes, it is customizable like no other keyboard you've ever seen.

EDIT: I fiddled with the keyboard settings and spent the last 90 minutes on my compulsive writing habit and I am typing as fast as I did on a full touch QWERTY. This keyboard feels lihe magic. my remaining issues are that the color customization sliders don't have a preview, I can't move or swap the finger and backspace keys, and I wish that the swipe command on upper-left A was a single tap. Flick keyboards are really good.

I've been using this keyboard for years to serve as a better keyboard for single-handed use than qwerty (I normally use Gboard for two-handed). The lower demand for precision makes it greatly easier to type with one hand when walking or driving (sometimes I just have to). I also use it when I'm in a blanket and don't want to expose both my hands and get too cold. The app has a suite of options to customize controls and usability.

A really good keyboard option for one-handed use, way more convenient than "one handed" modes on typical phone keyboards. It's also the best keyboard for compact phones since you can type anything you want without it being cramped or having to use predictive text like on modern T9 keyboards. The only thing I would improve is the emoji menu, the buttons to switch categories are too small to use one-handed and it isn't very organized. Having a better emoji menu would make it totally perfect though
