Since version 5, the app now includes a MQA Core Decoder (in-app purchase required). MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that delivers the sound of the original master recording. The master MQA file is fully authenticated and is small enough to stream or download, while also being backward compatible. The Tidal streaming service supported by USB Audio Player PRO features many tracks in MQA and offers a great opportunity to experience MQA.

The MQA decoder will unfold the MQA stream from 44.1/48kHz to 88.2/96 kHz and can also be combined with USB DACs that feature a MQA renderer (e.g. AudioQuest DragonFly / iFi / Ztella) for further unfolding to even higher sample rates.

Updated review: Wow, really improved the sound quality with my external DAC. Added clarity, amp, airiness and space to my Tidal stream! Was a bit annoyed with having to pay extra to unlock MQA on top of the cost of the app, but it's definitely worth it. Now it's not 5 stars because the interface on top of Tidal could be improved. There's still times it will hang, can't resume playing after paused for a while, and some lack of polish. But still overall, a must-have for any audiophile using an external DAC!

Sound quality with "bit perfect" setting using both my phones (one with ESS Sabre and one with Qualcomm Aqstic) is indeed incredibly good. However I have noticed a few bugs and some disadvantages that make this software nearly unusable for me respectively inconvenient: 1.) It would be great if there was a way to donwload playlists from Google Play/Tidal etc. - otherwise it remains for me just an "at home" solution. Update: Great support fixed a minor issue. now 5 stars. thanks!

Wonderful tool. Thank you very much! Great for Tidal Master. Allows full resolution on my external DACs. Although no offline mode. The UI could be a bit cleaner. And it would be nice if it would directly use the Android media content provider and thus it would not need to do long scans of music data and playlists.

What's new

* Added a work-around for USB disconnects in the latest firmware update for Pixel 6 and 7 phones.
* Added an Info button to the track display of playlists that contain a description (Tidal and Qobuz).
* Widget sizing improvements. The current widget needs to be removed and a restart of your Android device might be required.
* Improved speed of determining recently added albums.
