I love this app. The most thing I liked about this, is many features and there's no add pop-ups. You can call/video call. And change nicknames, conversation color and emoji. And the new thing you can play basketball. But i wish that you can add many more games like baseball and soccer etc. That's all I advice you to add many more games so that people can enjoy their chat and challenge others to beat their High score. But I really loved it!

If I could have only one messenger app, this would be it. It grew up, it's not " Facebook messenger " anymore. Amazing, all-inclusive features: see who is active in the moment ,make phone calls, manage group conversations, immediately visible historical info, etc. And the best part? you can do one thing, or all of it, your choice. so convenient, so easy to use " once you understand how it fits together". It becomes indispensable quickly.

Good for Facebook. However tries multiple times to hijack all messaging services. Somehow claims text messages, allows you to compose replies then won't send them as you've not switched. Meaning you have to go and find the original message to reply. It's a good app Facebook but please leave the rest of my phone alone!

I love this app. My children are all over the world in the military and we keep in touch via a family group chat. Then I love the fact that I can video chat them. I have got to see my daughter ruck a mountain, my son make rank over seas, my grandson take his first steps, and sit and drink my morning coffee with my oldest daughter before her first class. Now my baby daughter is getting ready to leave home for college so I look forward to more morning coffee dates and gab sessions. Thank you messenger. We love you!!!!

I like the fact that I can get all my messages here. Not just messenger itself, but also messages to my phone from my planned service. Ever since messenger decided to combine the two, it's now my primary message page. I don't use the phone's brand. PS. Also try out the Hello App. It goes great with messenger. Hello is my primary contacts page.

Better this way than in the main app. EDIT: Lowering the rating because they are trying to make it MORE than a messaging app by adding Days™ which not only adds clutter but is very annoying. When I swipe down and camera opens, please remove that cos that's horribleness
I hate this app. I hate that they force you to put it on your phone or the Facebook app shows fake messages until you reinstall this. I hate that the only way to get to my messages on mobile is by using this bloated nightmare of an app. I don't want all your frills and features, I just want to read my messages. Just put basic messages back in the Facebook app and let people choose this app if they want the extra features. Please actually acknowledge what your consumers are wanting before they decide that your whole site is not worth the effort.
Not sure what is wrong lately but can't access my messages on my old Samsung nor my new LG G5. My husband can't on his G5 either. Only way to access is through Facebook on an actual PC. Problem started 2 days ago and won't correct by unistalling and re installing the app or restarting the phones.
I play the games. But I have to update the app to be able to play na new ones. By the time I updated it, i can't play the games, all the games. It always say CONNECT TO WI-FI TO PLAY like duuh, my phone is always to our wi-fi. Whats the problem with that? Fix it creators. It pisses me off 😠
Still the worst IM app between Signal, Allo, WhatsApp, and Voxer. I despise the screen real estate stealing Messenger Day. Drop the gesture to open the camera. I don't need friend suggestions or to know if they're online. I don't need the log-in notification when wifi routers require a log-in. The OS already does this. I get new message notifications from active chats. This app is a mess.
I do like the app but it has bugs that need fixed. I have trouble when I am writing a message to people. It cuts off and I have to go back in to find the person I was messenging and redo the message to just have it happen again. Please fix this problem it is a pain in the ass to type out a lot of tiny messages :-(
First you forced timeline now this. I don't want to have a GIANT waste of space app that I could just as well use the basics on the page like I used to. Then the SMS take over BS that doesn't give me my text messages half the time. Flippin crock of shiz... The sounds are annoying the files are huge and it doesn't work. Quit forcing me to do stuff. Got an email the other day that I hadn't updated in 12 weeks. Wonder why facefux well wonder no more
All is ok most of the time. App keeps crashing and updating doesn't fix it. It crashes as in when I open it via the app icon I'm greeted with a white screen. Via Facebook icon, I get a message saying site can't be reached. I keep having to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work again.
I have had nothing but issues from this app over the last 3 months. It cuts off of my messages in the middle of me sending a message, making me have to go back into messenger find the person I was talking to and retype the whole message only to have it do it all over again!!!! Getting so aggravated with this app if I didn't have to have it to receive messages on my Facebook I would delete it permanently!!!!
Recently Messenger has lagged a lot when I'm typing. It only happens in Messenger so I know it isn't Google Keyboard. Yesterday it actually crashed/reset my phone entirely... Please fix this. Also, bring back the "pull down to refresh" gesture! Pulling down should not open the camera.
It stopped connecting! Having major issues with the app and i don't know what else to try. It's updated, tried force stopping it and restarting it. Tried on multiple devices with and without wifi and still won't work. Can see my messages from a desktop view though #annoying
IT TAKES TOO MUCH SPACE. Newest update sucks, put back the wider text bar, chat heads close without warning, photos don't send camera doesnt work. It shouldn't be this hard to send messages. The my day option is annoying and now instead of getting rid of it you make an entire CHAT HEAD for it?!?!?
It's good when communicating with friends. But other features sucks. Like I have u0dated it yet nww features are still unavailable and games wont play even if im connected to wifi. Also shared contents when i try to download them it always fail. Pls do something
You know what would be great? If I could just message people without all the extra stuff. This isn't supposed to be snapchat so just let it be a simple messaging app that doesn't take forever to load and doesn't switch to new picture taking screens because I tried to scroll.
I used to love this with the clean layout with the 5 tabs at the top and being able to filter by SMS or messenger message. Now they've changed it so you can only filter by SMS and the camera is so prominent I keep accidentally starting it. Not everyone is taking selfies and endless clips all day!!!
The amount of 'features' that cannot be permanently turned off is annoying and absurd. I don't care to be reminded of Birthdays, or who is Active. And most annoying is the 'Check Connection' notification telling me my WiFi is not properly in range. Why, of all apps, does Facebook Messenger need to remind me constantly of this? Such a useless feature! I know my WiFi isn't in range - I'm on the highway! Please allow me to turn this off!
I want to be able to go online but appear off-line from messenger. I click turn chat off, however when someone clicks my name he/she can see "active now" even though I've turned chat off. Or it says active 15 min. Ago even when i turned the chat off. I want chat off to mean no time stamp. Just online or offline.
For a while messanger worked great. Then it stopped telling me when i receive messages. Now it wont let me even read mt messages it says it is always loading. It doesnt ever load no matter if im connected to internet or not. It doesnt work, it is annoying. I have a galaxy S6. I have redownloaded it multiple times to try and get it to work. Anyway i could get it to work?
I havent tried out all of this apps features, I've just tried the messaging part, which is wonderful. Whoever designed this app is very intelligent in my opinion. Would have give more stars, but randomly the messenger will say "unfortunately messenger has stopped" and it will kick me out of the app. It does this constantly on my android phone. Drives me nuts, because it usually shuts me out of the app when I am in the middle of writing a message. Whatever I am writing or doing at the time of the kicked out message is lost/gone. Be cautious of this. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, hasn't made a difference at all. I love this app, wish this defect could be fixed...if it gets fixed I will certainly rate this app with five stars!!
The only thing i dislike about this app is that it lags on x86 proccesors or maybe its a problem from my phone. I dont know but sometimes i fell like it consumes too many resources than it needs. Still a great app but not perfect either.
Only plays 2 seconds of videos shared. Even refuses to open links sometimes. This has been going on for multiple updates. If I didn't have friends that insist on using this terrible program I'd uninstall it. Will immediately update this review of these are fixed.
I hate that I need this separate app to view basic messages that should be available in the Facebook app itself. The Facebook app is clearly capable of displaying text. Why add a second layer of permissions and force me into options I don't want? It is invasive and intrusive and rude and obnoxious.

I hate & despise this app! I already have a default/ preinstalled message app. I rather not have this app at all, but for some stupid reason other fb users thinks all fb users use this app. The app does make it easier for the facebook program to invade our privacy & collect more information about us.
Love this app and how it integrates SMS with my Facebook messages - makes for a very convenient and cohesive experience. One problem with this recent version is it keeps resending gifs to friends all the time. If this could be fixed that would make the app even better!
I love the app. Very fun and useful to use. I love the chat head feature, so I can be talking to friends while on my favorite app, but for some reason the chat head keeps closing up on me. I never had that problem until now, please fix or tell me what's wrong with my phone 😆
I haven't been able to see the animated stickers when I send them or when they are sent to me! Also, the videos never load; they play for 5 seconds and constantly restart! It's been like this for months! Pathetic.
This app is a total stupidity, people prefer convenience when it comes to operating the phone, we are forced to use messenger and there's no sign out option. It annoys me so much that after my work gets over soon, I'll deactivate my fb account so I won't get any messages which cause installation of this app. Congo, I HATE it!
I'm not excited about it. I don't like the way it does some things, or things it won't do. I do like the layout of the editor, but don't like how, with all that's shown causes the insert point to become buried under the kybd. Before, the popup from a longpress of an item that offers "Details." Now, it should be labeled "Detail." Uno. One Solo. That's relevant...Sent. Duh! What happened to "Seen," "Viewed," or "Read." ???
Keeps crashing every time I try to switch chat heads. It's been doing this for almost a week now and yet this app seems to update twice a week. But of course I can't just send messages the old way can I?
The app crashes everytime when im typing long messages. I'm pretty sure its not my phone because similar apps like viber or mechat works jst fine. Everything works fine before the freaking updates. I thought updates are use to fix bugs? Why is it that the updated version seem to have lots of bugs. Dissapointing =/
Had to uninstall cause it was acting up went to reinstall and been waiting 30mins for it to do it.. And no it's not my WiFi our my data I pay good money for my stuff.. So looks like I won't have messenger
Messenger has always been my go to for messaging, sharing media and video calls. I love this app it's easy to use and convient with all the updates such as combining sms with messenger. Thank you for the time you all put into making this a good quality product
Its annoying bcuz I don't want the app nut must keep downloading bcuz people keep inboxing me. I continuously reinstall and delete. Also it allows people to call you who don't have your number smh worst idea ever. I hate the app. I should be able to check my messages without the app.
