USB OTG Checker makes it easy to test whether your phone is compatible with USB OTG devices. OTG or On The Go USB devices are devices that can be used on the USB port of your device via a suitable OTG USB cable.

USB OTG Checker does not allow you to do that testing. It will not change your device.

FUNCTIONALITIES
- check the presence of USB Manager
- check the presence of android.hardware.usb.host.xml
- find the list of connected OTG USB devices

IF FOUND TO BE INCOMPATIBLE with USB OTG devices :
It is not fatal. You can probably still make it work. Depending on the step that blocks in the test, you can look on the internet for your phone more specifically. But you will probably need to root your device.

Simply the best. I had specffic problems with OTG that I obviously didn't know. It's writen in my phone's specifications that my phone supports OTG. This is not truth because it doesn't support USB Host via OTG. It only supports USB manager via OTG and USB device list via OTG. It should support all of the 3 mentioned above, not just 2 out of 3. As a result I couldn't connect any wired joystick via OTG. This app discovered this for me. Huge thanks. As I said at the start: simply the best.

I think the application works fine. But would be nice to educate us what to expect and how to interpret the results. Basically want to know what it can do. Some programs only recognize internal memory and even though have external connection to USB memory it not shows up. Not the fault of the OTG..

The app correctly identified that my Huawei phone supports OTG, so I purchased a cable from eBay, and my device (Android 8.1) is now sending audio data via an external DAC, with no set-up required. This app also detects connected USB devices. Simple and effective - thanks developers.
