familAI is a parental-supervision tool for families whose children use AI chatbots. Kids increasingly talk to AI chatbots — about school, emotions, health, and problems. familAI gives the parent visibility into these conversations and warns when something concerning comes up.
HOW IT WORKS
1. The parent creates an account at familai.pl and generates a family code.
2. The familAI app is installed on the child's phone and linked with the family code.
3. The parent sees, in their dashboard, the messages the child sends to AI apps, plus alerts when the analysis detects risky content (e.g. violence, self-harm).
HOW MONITORING WORKS (use of the AccessibilityService API)
familAI uses Android's AccessibilityService API to read the text your child types into popular AI chat apps and send it to the parent's familAI dashboard. This is the app's core function and is not available through any other Android API. The service is limited to those AI chat apps — it does not read passwords, other apps, Google Search, or anything the child types elsewhere. Monitoring only starts after an explicit in-app disclosure and consent screen, and a permanent notification shows on the child's phone the whole time monitoring is active. Both the parent and the child are informed that monitoring is on.
