Great app. My LG G4 kept dropping wifi at home. used this to find a better channel, and all dropout problems are solved. As an Android developer, I sympathise with the need to adhere to Google's permissions requirements (re location). It is depends on the version of the API the app targets and not the version of Android on your device. Google mandated a change in November 2018. I know, I went through the same pain myself. Please don't downrate the app because of this. It is not the dev's fault!

Once running it is great and told me what I needed to know - which was the best channel to set my router to. But getting it set up was very frustrating and reading other reviews was required to identify why it couldnt detect a signal although it declared it was connected to my router. App permissions need to be set to allowing location and I had to repeat this a couple of times before it would play ball.

I've had this very useful tool for a number of years and always found it working well on a number of devices. It's a great help in identifying weak signal areas and optimising router positions or best repeater locations... Oh, If it doesn't seem to work, you may have to manually set an App permission to allow "location". Then it suddenly works.
