DOESN'T WORK WITH LATEST VERSIONS OF ANDROID I used to love and rely on farproc's WiFi Analyzer app, for both professional and home usage. However, since updating to the latest versions of Android (first Lollipop v5.0.1, then Marshmellow v6.0.1), I can no longer use this app to pick and choose which Access Point I wish to connect to. Being unable to select a particular AP for connection makes this app more of a pretty toy than a useful tool.
Not Android OS MM v6.0.1 compatible? Have used this Wi-Fi utility app for years, with great success. My AT&T 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy S®6 active was just upgraded to Android OS v6.0.1. It no longer allows you to change access points from within the app. You get a "Failed!" message, each time. Everything else in the app seems to work, properly, however; I can still change networks using the stock Android Wi-Fi tool. Hope there's a forthcoming fix for this...
A little lack with virtual nets. My router(huawei s319) have 2 network: my no-broadcasting private network('1') and open wifi ('2'). Both networks have same MAC, but different ssid-s. My smartphone connected to '1'. But the app shows 3! networks:'1','2', '?' with different signal level. Could you please group this nets in one by Mac address?
Works nope! Installed it on my phone to give me info on my WiFi and see what's channels are the best I then switched to channel 1 because it had best rating after doing so it then told me me 4 6 and 11 were the best and 1 is the worst. Gives info but not reliable. If it improves I will change my rating
Great app Simple, useful tool. Does what it says and that's it.. Not bogged down with useless extras. If you're somewhere with multiple open networks you can see which one is strongest. If you're setting up a network you can use this to see what channels are being used by other networks... So you can tell which channel(s) would have the least interference and set your WiFi router accordingly.
Great for finding APs in large buildings such as hospitals and airports I use this app professionally to track down wireless APs in large buildings. It saves you the hassle of having to get a laptop loaded with a full survey tool.
Improved alias importing & exporting.
