It's the best way to check what's going on in the neighborhood and find the best available channel. There's one bug in the app though. The first line in the AP List view shows where the phone is connected. Sometimes, this line switches to "Authenticating" and it stays there forever even if the connection is authenticated and connected. I have to close the app completely and rerun it for the correct indication of the connected network to return.
Initially the network information seems helpful allowing one to check for the strongest WiFi channels available but whichever channel I then set on my router the app suddenly starts reporting it as the weakest, in fact it shows the channel in use as having zero stars! Consequently I still cannot determine the best channel to set on my router for reliable home WiFi.
My home network is Mesh based using the Linksys Velop router. I'd like to see this app updated to show what node I am connected to. It currently shows the individual signals but does not show which one my phones or tablets are using. The Linksys app should do this but is wrong most of the time.
This is abso-freakin'-lutely the best scanner I've found/used by far. Multiple scans being conducted at the same time without any lag or glitches. You want a wi-fi scanner that delivers, then get this one now.
Before the latest update, I used this app daily for my line of work. It wasn't necessary, but it sped things up. Now it has pop-up ads and I cannot stand them. I am uninstalling this app.
It needs a way to ignore certain APs when calculating the channel ratings. Our Roku box automatically uses the same channel as our router for its WiFi remote. The traffic is negligible but it's presence is skewing the channel ratings.
