Edited review The graphics are beautiful and keeping your tribe alive is very interesting. That being said, one thing I find annoying is that when you travel to a new camp site you lose almost all your stores. It doesn't matter if you have 2 years worth of leather, fur and cured food, if you travel to a new site that is just 4 days away you lose almost all of it. What is the point, then, of trying to build up supplys? Originally I complained about the training system, because if you don't already have somebody with a given skill nobody else can ever learn it. After playing the game a second time I realized that you start out with all skills, spread out across different members. You just need to be sure that you take your time and train everybody in everything, so you won't lose a skill if somebody dies.
Lascaux: The Journey Complex and very addicting.
Needs work I found the faq inadequate. I had questions about how the storage worked. There should be a better explanation of where to put your shelter and fire when you find a cave...the caves are not obvious. Went to all of the campsites but did not find lascaux cave. A few issues have already been described.such as hunters stuck in the crouch position and animals scaring off tribe members who are butchering animals but you can't seem to go back and butcher the animal after you have hunters drive the animals back. There could be a better explanation or chart that shows which tribe members are carrying children in the status so that you can plan who to train and who will be "camp mothers". I enjoyed ithe game but then I was done and lost interest after visiting all of the camps and having 350 days of food and fuel and storage. Btw if you don't pack your camp up, you can return to the old camp to get the stuff. Also, the only place that I could really tell how many days worth of fuel and food I had was to open the map. Several times I pressed the check button instead of "x" and moved the tribe accidentally. There should be a dialog box that shows you your stores without opening the map.
