About this app

Association A meal or clothing for them (RVPE)

In 2023, around 735 million people worldwide suffered from hunger, or around 9.2% of the world's population. This figure represents an increase compared to previous years due to various factors such as conflict, climate change and the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 2.3 billion people worldwide (approximately 29.3% of the world's population) do not have regular access to sufficient nutritious food, which is a significant increase from the previous decade.

Children are particularly affected by malnutrition:
- Around 144 million children under the age of five suffer from stunted growth due to chronic malnutrition.
- Nearly 47 million children under the age of five are severely underweight.
- Paradoxically, around 38 million children under the age of five are overweight due to unbalanced diets.

The African continent, particularly sub-Saharan Africa, is the region most affected by hunger, with around 20% of the population suffering from undernourishment.

Various factors are aggravating the food crisis:
- Nearly 60% of people suffering from hunger live in conflict zones.
- Extreme weather events such as droughts and floods exacerbate food insecurity in many regions.
- Countries with fragile economic systems are more likely to experience high levels of hunger due to the inability to stabilize food supplies and ensure access to food.

Because we are convinced that each of you, of us, wants and is capable of contributing significantly to bringing down these sad statistics, we are delighted to present our application “A meal or a piece of clothing for them (RVPE)”! This app aims to simplify the process of donating food and clothing to people in need around the world. Here are the main features of our application:

Drop off a donation at one of our collection points
You can now drop off your food and clothing donations at one of our many collection points throughout the region. Thanks to our geolocation function, the application helps you find the collection point closest to you.

Suggest a donation for home collection
We understand that not everyone has the opportunity to go to a collection point. This is why we have added a feature allowing you to offer a donation that we will collect directly from your address. Simply provide your donation details and address, and our team will collect it.

Key Features
- Drop off your food and clothing donations at the collection points closest to you.
- Home collection: We collect the donation from the address provided.

Future Improvements
We are constantly working to improve our app and add new features to better serve our children and the elderly (as a priority) in feeding and clothing themselves. Your feedback is valuable to help us improve your experience.

Thank you for being part of our mission to help those in need. Together we can make a difference.
