By far the best no-distraction app! I have Cold Turkey on all my devices, and I must say that it's by far the best. I know bc I have tested many of them. If you're a Windows user they also have the app available for Windows. I am also a big fan of the CT Writer, and if I'm not wrong its available both on Macs and Win computers. Also, I had a question about the app and thr developer not only replied very quickly but also did his best to help! One other thing that's worth mentioning is the simplicity of the app. Overall, great app & developer!
This is by far the best no distraction app out there, it got recommended to me through a friend and I'm glad I installed it. Perfect if you want to study and/or overcome procrastination. However, I did find it odd that when I went Cold Turkey I was unable to make/receive emergency phone calls. One of my family members could be in danger and I won't know until my Cold Turkey period was over. If you could somehow make it in future updates that I can make and receive emergency phone calls that would be great. I mean there could be an intruder in my house and I won't be able to dial the police, this is a deal breaker for me so please try and resolve this problem in future updates. Apart from this one problem I had, everything else was perfect. Keep up the fantastic work you've done in making this app the best of its kind out there.
It works great. But as soon as you power down your phone and turn it back on it no longer blocks any apps. Also I've found that when I open the app on accident it blocks my apps without me telling it to.
I like the simple no-nonsense approach. One click and you're cold turkey. It blocks nearly everything but you can restart the phone in the middle of a session and that acts as a pretty big loophole. Devs please fix. I'm using on oneplus 3
Doesn't work on Android 7.x! This distraction blocker can be easily bypassed on Android 7.x when you go into split screen multi tasking mode... Other then that if you use a phone/tablet (most devices running Android 6.X or lower) without split screen multi tasking, it's nearly impossible to bypass it
The desktop app is great, and the simple concept of the phone app is good, too. On a Samsung S7, it is still possible to open the multiple task button (bottom left, overlapping rectangle button) and force-quit the app, which prevents it from functioning effectively as a phone blocker. Fix this, and it would deserve 5 stars, hands down. The ability to disable the app in less than a second unfortunately renders it useless as of the current version (2).
Added ability to share via Facebook and visit the homepage after the block.
