Review from Hope Larocque
Synced first try.. Yeah.. The app works with my Samsung Rugby Smart phone through Google Play and bluetooth. This is great and will help a lot. I am new to fitbit but so far I love it. No matter what phone you have, this might work for others too.
Been a fitbit user fit a year already... The pairing systrm for ios is hassle free. When i changed to android the pairing sucks so bad i cant even get notifications. Tried all the tips to correct but will still not show notifications on my blaze... Will change to 5 stars when this is fixed for android
Quite simply there are better devices out there. As an example, the mio alpha 2 gives a far more precise heart rate reading than the blaze. As far as I can see, the blaze is more for the company collecting/selling data than truly helping the individual user. I have benched my Blaze and gone to the alpha 2. In addition there was recent update that finally allowed the app to be used in landscape mode, but with the current update it is gone, back to portrait only.
The app was good until the most recent update made it where you have to have location services on in order to sync with the Fitbit device. This kills my battery and now i can't sync by bluetooth like i could yesterday. They blame it on google... if you still have time to return your Fitbit device, do so. It completely sucks having to turn on gps just to sync.
I like the App but it could be better. It would be great if it would sync with Myfitnesspal in such a way that it would add the calories used to my Fitbit account. I can't understand the benefit of linking Fitbit to MFP if it doesn't do this. What is the benefit, can anyone explain? The FB App is very useful and easy to understand but I find syncing to be a problem sometimes.
I love almost everything about this app, but the calorie counting drives me insane! Every time I go into the food tracking section, or enter an item of food, it takes a good 10-20 seconds to load. That means that adding all the ingredients for just one meal can take several minutes. Not very efficient!
Problems syncing. Graphs can take days to update. Shines me in the eyes randomly during sleep. Forces location to work at all after last patch. Graphs are hard to follow and zoom/pan. Not sure what device is supposed to be useful for as the data is both poorly gathered and rendered. No battery indicator on device+No sync makes it worthless even as a watch. App is ok when it works. Product is not worth your time.
*New profile design, with the ability to add a cover photo and improved privacy controls that give you more control over your identity
*Bug fixes and performance improvements
