Best app for running. Over the year I have had it, it's only tracked my miles wrong once. It is an awesome free app, easy to track your run or add other activities. RunKeeper GO is a cheap upgrade which allows you to monitor your progress throughout each activity. On runkeeper GO, your friends can live track you, my husband uses this when I run at night. I've been using this app for years and its great.
I'm just getting back into running and it's too cold (for me!) to run outside yet. I haven't used this app to its full with GPS, I've only been using the timer for my treadmill workouts. So far it's been awesome motivation for me because of the tracking, notifications and emails. I also like that it announces every 5 elapsed minutes, I use that as my pace change alarm! I'm excited to get outside with this.
This used to be one of my favs. But the current connectivity problems have put me off runkeeper. (I like to use Garmin software on my fitness devices, diet trackers for food intake, and sometimes Google Fit) . None of these have been properly syncing, even though both runkeeper and the other vendor's software report connected. From what I've been reading, this has been a long-lasting problem with no solution. All this and my 45min workout was reported by runkeeper as 16min. Really?????
Runkeeper is a fantastic idea, and what seems to be made from a team that appreciates helping others achieve their running goals. However, the app is slow, lacks key features (like automatic stopping your timer after a few seconds of inactivity, and suffers the occasional glitch (which, for serious runners is non-negotiable). With this review, my intent is to speak more to the app's UX developers than to those looking for a sports app. The RK app is a good idea with so much more potential.
In the last six months I have been getting a lot of miss calculated runs/walks. Prompts will not call out and it will pause my music. If I don't have the app open all the time it shorts me up to a mile less than what I accomplished. I have been using the app for many years now and never had this long of a problem with it
I just paid for the personalized training plan, and I am really disappointed. I told it I wanted to run 3 times a week, but it only gives me one workout per week. Also, it started my plan in April (2017, I assume) even though I created the plan in January. $40 for something that is much worse than any number of free C210K plans out there.
Introducing a brand new Android Wear 2.0 experience! Leave your phone at home. You can now track a run with a GPS-enabled watch alone.
All stats tracked with your watch will sync with the app on your phone. That means you’ll be able to see mapped routes after you save.
