RK used to be the absolute best running app. Not so much since Asics bought it. It no longer gives audio cues for intervals. It no longer allows you to easily log in from a desktop. It no longer allows you to plan and track your own routes or create your own schedule. You'd think a company that bases itself around running wouldn't remove features that runners would use. I would have even gone for the paid version, but I have zero faith that any of the features that made it good are there. 👎👎👎

Hi there, all these features are available within the app. You can set audio cues for intervals by setting distance or time triggers from your Audio Stats or creating a custom workout with your desired intervals. We'd appreciated it if you contacted us at saying you came from this review and our team will be happy to help you!

Tried twice, died twice. Started the app on two occasions. Both for my standard 2-mile loop. After waiting a good, long time for the app to open, I started the counter and verified the time was counting. Both times when I finished my run the app had apparently returned to 0:00. The pause button appeared, indicating that ot was in record mode but, somehow, it all reset and was not running. Used this as an alternative for mapmywalk since this linked with the diet app I'm using now.

Hi there, this issue appears to be related to default battery optimization policies that some Android devices force on the Runkeeper app. To resolve this, please consult this article: If you have any questions, email Thank you :)

Many of the negative reviews point out that app randomly stops tracking and crashes. That was also my experience with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. It was frustrating, and none of the fixes that the developer gave worked for me. I updated my phone to a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 three weeks ago (August 23, 2022), and I have not experienced one crash or loss of tracking so far. This has included hikes through narrow ravines with steep sides, where one would expect to lose a GPS signal. So far, so good.

What's new

Introducing a brand new Android Wear 2.0 experience! Leave your phone at home. You can now track a run with a GPS-enabled watch alone.

All stats tracked with your watch will sync with the app on your phone. That means you’ll be able to see mapped routes after you save.
