I did app that cost $20 month for six months with little result. Found this free app and decided to go ahead and upgrade for a year for about the same as the previous app monthly rate. I've lost weight and paying a fraction. Easy to use with scanner and very few foods that I haven't found. Easy to put in recipes to calc per serving calories, easy to log exercises.
Being able to scan the barcode for products, while not a unique feature was very helpful in motivating me to track what I ate. Also the variety of sports, exercises, and everyday activities, like yardwork, that were available to choose from made it that much easier to track activity without spending money on a fitness tracker, ex. Fitbit. It was also great that they verified certain food products, since all the information is user submitted and can't necessarily be trusted. The information about the ratio of daily intake of macronutrients (fat, carbs, and protein) helped me stay on track. The net calories for the week, also allowed me to "stockpile" some calories for the end of the week, for a guilt-free" cheat day/meal, another "bonus feature" in my mind.
Impressive database of foods and brands, but...It could be easier to just enter calories without listing every ingredient every time or even when creating a recipe. In addition, a single alphabetical database would make more sense than searching in different categories such as Brands, My Foods, etc. With those changes, I'd consider upping the rating to 5*.
Do You Even Micro? Tracks macros but you have to pay for micro nutrition tracking. There are other trackers that give micro & macro for free. Amazing interface. Kudos to their usability team. The inviting and clean interface is easy to use and speedy. Additionally I'd rather pay monthly than have to commit for an entire year.
Tracking is key to weight loss and Lose it makes it very easy! You can scan bar codes easily as well as entering nutritional info on your own. I'm happy with it.
I paid for the premium version because they were pushing it really hard within the app and it sounded like there were a lot of additional features. You can set additional goals, but the "blog" that it gives you access to is garbage. Definitely NOT worth $30, even for a whole year. I see why they make it such a long subscription, no one would do it otherwise.
This month is comin’ in hot! We’re starting it off right with all the fixin’s:

Have a joyful June, and happy tracking!
