Review from Jonathan Snow
Was really good. I especially like how it tells you what channel a game is on. However, recent updates have removed the alerts for many college football teams. I think they've restricted it to only "P5" teams now...? For example, now it only tells me when a game is starting and ending, but not the score each quarter, etc. It helped to follow a game when you couldn't watch. It's hard to complain, since it's free, but disappointing they removed a bunch of good functionality with the updates.
November 11, 2017Hey Jonathan, thanks for writing the review. You should still be seeing the same alert options that were available in the old design. If this isn't the case, please send an email to email@example.com and we'll look into it. - AW
What is (com.fivemobile.thescore) that's shows up in my memory usage at 102 mbps usage? I uninstalled your app due to high memory usage in the 600 mbps. Keeps crashing a new phone. This is left behind. Not cool the score.
Appreciate that the developers have made some adjustments based on user feedback. But. I am still frustrated by a few things. I dislike having to click on the league button to (eventually, lags a bit at times) get to a list of leagues just so I can switch leagues. Just give us a side-bar or another way to switch leagues with a single action (swipe, press, whatever). Biggest pet peeve is navigating within the news. I like that I can watch videos right in the feed, but I hate opening an article to read and then having to use the back button to go back to the feed to select the next article. Bring back the ability to swipe to the next article, or even scroll through once you get to the bottom. Please.
Last update ruined what was a great app. Now runs terribly and is unresponsive and counter intuitive, the ads are not tastefully inserted at all and is ruining the experience. I understand the desire to generate more revenue but the implementation is horrible. Something very simple is that it used to be so easy to see players individual stats, it was one click, but now have to tab and then go to second tab just because you want me to see more ads? Regrettably I will have to reinstall.
I refuse to believe you can't find anything to report in college basketball other than that idiot LaVar Ball and his spoiled kids. Just another reason why the Score is losing its credibility as a go to sports app
Another idiotic update. Now I can make the news layout "compact" but I can still only see one story in the list because of giant ads. I will happily pay for an ad free version of this app. So disappointed in the new layout.
Never review, but feel compelled to now because this update is garbage. The ads others have mentioned don't bother me, but I find it extremely confusing to navigate now, when it used to be so simple. Hate that they ruined a good thing ----Add to reply to AW: for example, I wanted to look at college football bowls, but since there aren't any bowl games today, "Go to NCAAF" isn't an option for me to select from the scores screen. I have to go to the date of the first bowl games, Dec 16, to get that option. But what if I didn't know what day the games started? In the past, I could just pick NCAAF as the sport I wanted to view, and it would take me to the next game. Now I have to know the date to get to what I want. Just seems overly complicated----2nd reply: I stand corrected, and thanks for the help. I still don't care for the update, but I've adjusted my rating up.
