So I bought the app, all the adds on and now you're telling me that this is for nothing? You're basically mitigate to another app with another package where I can have 3-month-upgrade... And that's it. So I can keep use the old app, I get that. But the question is... Will you keep updating it? Will you fix bugs there? I'm really disappointed as a customer and really ashamed as a fellow Android Developer. You should NOT treat your users like this.
From heroes to zeros (sadly you have to give a minimum of 1 star to review). I don't need to say anymore as everyone else has said it already. A one off lifetime purchase should mean exactly that! Won't be buying a subscription! 🤥🤑😤 UPDATE: So, Flightradar have replied (which I genuinely appreciate). They say; "You can keep using the old app if you prefer. The new app offers a lot of new and free features... " (their full reply is under mine) I haven't tried the new app (and won't be) so not sure if the following comments are relevant but, I'm all for paying for extras which weren't in the old app however, previously "paid for" features should, out of customer loyalty, be migrated across to the new version and, ethically, previously "paid for" features in the old app shouldn't be made available for free in the new app. These days, so many businesses have great products but are so focused on their great idea, that they forget about customer care and how consumers will be affected by changes made to the product. The old app still rocks though! :-)
Just purchased this app two months ago and now they decide to "upgrade" to a tiered monthly subscription model. First Mobiata Flightaware app, now Flightradar24. All I want is a simple way to track arriving flights without recurring costs. I guess I'll use the old paid app until they decide to pull the plug just like Mobiata did with Flightaware v4.
Disgusting. I was quite a fan of the old app I PAID FOR. I also got others to download it. Off to planefinder I go... The right way to switch is if they upgraded current users to the new with the current features they have on the new app. But they're only giving me 3 months free. I'm aware I can keep the old app, but this is just thievery at its best. I will stick to the old app and if they stop supporting that, simply switch to planefinder.
The new version is a complete ripoff I can only agree with all the people who complained about the new fee structure. Why should I have to pay twice and continuously for the features I already bought? As the old version won't get updated anymore letting me keep the old version to enjoy my paid features is a bad joke.
Moving to pay as you go fee structure is just GREEDY. Now costs 3 to 4 times more on the very basic new fee structure over 12 months, AND THEN YOU HAVE TO KEEP PAYING. Great for GREEDY developers, lousy for subscribers. Had bought the old app for myApple, Google and Windows devices. Can't see the same happening with the new app.
