Couldn't be better This is, by a significant margin, the best xkcd browser on the app store. The UI is perfectly serviceable without being too flashy, navigation is good, as are the search function and offline mode, for both the comics and what-if articles. The developer is also receptive to user input. I wrote an earlier review, which praised the app, and offered some suggestions as well. It may have been coincidence, but the next iteration of the app included these features.
Great app! Easy to go through all the comics, love the Favorite and Top Comics features. I only wish menu navigation was easier - took me a while to find out where my favorites were. I suggest adding a home screen to the app. Otherwise, it's great! Easy to share and save comics. Perhaps add the captioned punchlines to the sharing feature and you're golden.
Best app, with nothing more to ask for (NO ADS!) Fearing the one case when I would want to use something else, I almost never select an app to "Always Open" a link type. However, I did for this app because it looks great and has all the functionality (including links to larger images and to ExplainXKCD). Notifications with nice background images (*cough, cough* Facebook), intuitive control over comics stored offline and support for What-If just made this one of the most pleasurable apps to use. Note to the dev: Actually, I lied; there is one thing that's missing: a way to view the URl of a link without leaving the app.
Great Except It Causes Other Apps to Crash I love the functionality of this app. It works with most of the comics, but some of the animate gifs don't work. Also I get regular notices that other apps and services on my tablet have shut down while using this app. I never get such notices when not using this app.
Easy to use, has some nice extra features The swipe action is troublesome when looking at larger comics, but since I can turn it off, it's not really an issue. The interface is fine, it offers easy access to the title text and each comic's explanation, and I am a pretty big fan of offline mode.
Best viewing app The search function makes it so easy to pull up a comic when I'm talking with someone and there's one of those "I think there's an xkcd about that" moments. Also, I love that I don't have to actively check xkcd any more and I hadn't known about "What if?" before installing this.
