I had this app for i-phone and it was brilliant. The walks are bang on point to point to and easy to follow. By far my best app purchase if you like walking. Just got this for android and after a bad start with the loading it was resolved within a few hours. The moderator are brilliant and will sort your problems ASAP so be assured that you £1.99 is money well spent
Haven't used the app yet, but found loads of walks in my area - very pleased with that. Will amend review once I've got my gaiters grubby. It would be nice to be able to filter walks by certain criteria - e.g. circular/linear, as this affects the logistics and may double the length of the walk! Assuming you can upload your own walks and have them moderated...? Looking forward to getting my boots on.
Good app, missing key information. This is a great app for walking. I've just installed it and found several walks nearby that I did not know about. I've also seen several walks nearby that are not on the map. I presume the app is still growing. It is certainly with the £1.99. The reason I have given this only 4 stars is because I think the walks are missing crucial information. What I would like to see added to every walk is: - Estimated completion time - Dog friendly (yes/no/partially) - Child friendly - Free parking or what the parking charges are Not written within the text descriptions, but as key points like the difficulty boots and the star rating. With that this would be a 5 star app.
The map makes it look like a lot of walks but lots of areas are completely bare (SW Wales). Other apps will give many more walks in these stunning areas for free
Great idea to combine route choice & GPS mapping in one app. The single route I have used so far had good written directions. The GPS route gets downloaded for offline use but not the maps so if like me you disable mobile data all you see is a blue location marker and a red route without context. Resorted to checking the GPS at every junction to avoid unknowingly going off route. EDIT - Thanks for clarifying that, for my second route I made a point of entering map mode while still at home. Sure enough the map tiles were available throughout the entire walk despite disabled mobile data.
