The new app seems to have caused MFM to stop working in my 2013 Cmax Energi. Ford Sync team said the only fix was a modem firmware update (on a modem installed only a few months ago). It cost $140 to get this new firmware at the dealer. Please don't force these expensive updates unless they're absolutely necessary and/or provide significant functionality improvements.
I couldn't even make it through the registration process. App keeps giving me a spinning loading icon which seems to be the norm according to other reviews. It seems like it would be a very useful app if Ford could actually make it work. Update: 6/12/17 The app was working for the last 2 weeks and I almost updated my review to capture the positive changes. I was able to start the car remotely and set up go times so my car was cooled befor leaving work, it was exciting. However, the app has not been able to update my vehicle into for 2 days and just shows my car as out an about. I would really like this app if it worked consistently but that doesn't look like that will ever be the case.
Ford Fusion Hybrid-Electric. The app is extremely basic. It does what it says, but it really lacks some features. For example, I am unable to Value Charge at Home because I have a 240V Quick Charger. Really? Isn't the whole purpose of Value Charge to take care of my Time of Use Billing rate? Maybe I can set it manually, but I should be able to give it the name of my rate plan and utility -- and it should act accordingly (I supply this information and it charges every time I plug in, regardless of time of day -- even when set to Value Charge at this location).
app was great up until it updated today. now I cant check the charge status of my car. it says it is updating and everytime it goes through the updating process when signed in it fails. have tried restarting phone, but it continues to give me the same problem. Tried uninstalling app and reinstalling still doesn't work. I've had my car for a week. Can we fix this, or go back to a version that works.
Latest update adds a few new features. Was crashing when starting but after clearing app data under settings, the app works fine again. Try it if crashing for you. It runs fine on Android O beta on Pixel XL.
UPDATE: After calling the 800 number Ford has given in a number of these reviews, I was told I must return to the dealer and they are to reference bulletin "Samsammother46661" for the fix to this constant crashing problem on my Samsung S7 Edge. Very disappointing considering I was just there on Monday (it's Thursday now) and they already did something to it... it just didn't work. I'll post another update with the results. When I first bought my car in 2014 I couldn't live without this app! But a couple upgrades ago it just stopped loading. Every time I try to launch it the app crashes. I'm stuck living without it now. Hoping the dealer can help today when I go in for service. Also hoping someone does something soon! Very disappointing!!! Especially since its so great when it actually works!
