Janjevo Walks is a multilingual interactive walking app whose architecture was designed to accommodate curated research as video, audio, and text. The app consists of 1 thematized Walk for the start: Neither Town Nor Village - which contains twenty-one points of interest supported by dozens short videos which reveal this beautiful and old place from the perspective of its own citizens throughout time.
Each Point of interest offers immersive discovery and learning experiences that nurture curiosity about cultural heritage, local history, and architecture. Moreover, Point of Interests encourage walking as a way to create a sense of belonging and a culture of this place.
Aware that the story of Janjevo is larger than this Walk, in line with oral history methodology, the Janjevo Walks mobile app will continue to collect life stories in the future. For that and other reasons, every section of the app welcomes users’ contributions such as memoirs, stories, and photographic archives. This collaboration with the wider public is crucial to initiating new lines of inquiry and curating other Walks in the years to come.
