I'm paying £5/ month for 1.25g data, 1250mins and 1250 texts... The data is pretty reliable I guess, but making phone calls is usually not possible. Probably just about worth it for the data, but if you need a functional phone then this network is not for you
Shame the app now includes ads. Disappointing but not the end of the world. This is one of those cases when the previous version was easier, clearer, and better overall. In addition, the FreedomPop Friends facility no longer works for me; the page remains empty/blank when I wish to share data (a list of all my friends should appear), possibly because I have too many friends, but there's no way to get rid of any. It still functions for my wife's account on her phone. All in all, a step in the wrong direction, I feel. Shame.
Horrible service. I gave them a try, but can no longer. You can call to talk to customer service if you want to pay a fee. In the past when you called you better have the whole day off due to the fact you were on hold forever, 2 hours was my longest hold time. There were NUMEROUS times that I could not call OR receive calls! This includes texts, which I had to use a third party for texts and calls, usually all the time, (AppWhats, wink wink). I cannot stress enough to avoid this headache. Go with Walmart's Family Plan for a no contract T-Mobile plan, which is true unlimited talk, text, data. This one when you reach a certain data limit they charge you $15 so your service talk, text, data won't stop. So it is NOT unlimited. Trust me. Stay away. And if not and you read this you can blame yourself.
This app and service promises free WhatsApp (push) to users even with no data but the reality is different . They suspend your push when your data runs out EVERY month and then it is a battle with customer care . The app force closes and freezes all the time . Takes about 40 seconds to dial a number .
I absolutely HATE HATE HATE FreedomPop!!! My daughter and I both received a Nexus 5 brand new for Xmas, my mother-in-law figured since it's a no contact phone there should be no issue having FreedomPop release the phone so I could use it with my current carrier, Ting (who has AMAZING customer service and just plain awesome service in general!!) Well, that was NOT the case! FreedomPop refused to release my phone, trying to tell me it was in someone else's name but my daughter's phone was able to be released no problem (they were both purchased at the same time, from the same company) I needed a phone so I figured I would sign up for FreedomPop so I could get it in my name and after a month cancel the service with FreedomPop and have my phone released so I could go back to Ting. But of freaking course they won't release the d*mn phone until I've had service with them for 6 months, service with a company I never wanted in the first place and whom has the absolute WORST customer service on the planet!! I guess my main complaint is: how exactly was FreedomPop able to start new service on my phone with no issue whatsoever for a phone that supposedly is in someone else's name still?????? FreedomPop you SUCK!! I've tried being nice, I've called you god knows how many times and still you refuse to help. "I'll email you in the next 30 minutes with an answer" but guess what.... They never follow through on there promise to contact me, or maybe they did but the service is so sh!ty the call/text didn't go through.
