So far, this app has been an excellent replacement for the My Tracks app that Google decommissioned. It's fantastic for the map options, ease of use, and choices to view real time data. I upgraded to the pay version to be able to view multiple tracks at the same time. I've seen a user knock the app as they can't find the gpx files. This is really unfounded - very easy to find the file, and transfer to the PC. In addition, the paid version allows Dropbox integration. I imported all of my "My Tracks" files, and can display and view them flawlessly. Love this app so far!
Easy Peasy My tracker stopped at French border so switched to this for Spain. Great, works well offline (essential for me as I refuse to bang money into data deals). Quirky but does the job well. Open maps are adequate but not as good IGN but getting to like this as I keep finding my way home.
"Trial version" Worked awesome with excellent features... until the "trial" ran out and all the useful features that I wanted were disabled. Isn't it so convenient that it's not clear that it's a trial version? Gives you the good stuff just long enough for people to leave good reviews, then yank the rug and ask for money.
Loaded with great features. I've given up my dedicated hiking GPS in favor of MyTrails. In the USA I've found that the Open Cycle Maps almost always have the hiking trails I use. And, I can download them and store them on my phone for use when I'm unable to get a cell signal as often happens in the mountains of Colorado. You will be amazed at the usefulness of this app.
Good Good functions etc... Worked well when testing, very good to watch your planned trail from prepared .gpx file. Maybe the cheap phone caused this, but i will not use it anymore - in real race, after first 200 meters it had first problems. Ok, I gave it another chance. After 1 km, it lost gps totally, app showed me nonsense, lags and lines in "random" directions. After 10 km and many app restarts, with battery under 40%, the phone ended in the bag. I will rather learn using paper maps. Sorry.
Best GPS Tracker for Hiking Easily the most user friendly and comprehensive tracking app out there! Love the ability to show altitude/speed/etc. based on track color. I do wish that the Open Hiking Map covered the US, but that isn't something the app can control. If you haven't already, download a GPS utility app and a stand-alone altimeter and fire them up before starting a track - it makes the initial GPS and altitude locks much faster.
