Review from Graham Boardman
Offline maps for any use.
Great idea to navigate roadless areas using offline maps. This app fails to deliver, it doesn't download maps of the wanted area and it doesn't hold GPS fix for continuous track log. It needs constant restarts to prove even basic statistics like speed, altitude etc. Other apps run fine on my phone. I would happily give it 5* if it worked.
Way too complicated. Manual doesn't seem to match ap, so can't figure it out. Walked around Pinnacle Lake to test it, and current position never budged from me cabin location. Didn't seem to work with gps. Managed to put a test waypoint on there, and now all it does is tell me I'm approaching the waypoint over and over. No way to delete test waypoint. Don't see this working for me.
Great app.. use it all the time when I'm out hunting.. only reason it's not a 5 star is because I can't find how to delete a recorded track. Also when i went to record a new track i lost my previously marked waypoints and am unable to find them. But it has helped me find my way back out of the Bush on several occasions. I don't hunt without it. Great app for sure.
Very useful for hiking in areas that have many trails and sparsely marked trails. Thoughtful use of waypoints provides a clear picture of where you have been and where you want to go. This app can greatly reduce the chances of getting lost. The information it gives is also fun to use. I really do like this app.
Great app. Except for the compass that isn't working properly. It shows east instead of west and vice versa. (Google maps works just fine, though.) Nevertheless, I've been able to use it for orientation combining with a manual compass. Very useful to follow gpx tracks and record your own.
I used my trails a long time ago the updating has made it easier for me to use. I'm trying to find the beta version I'll keep looking. I go off road a lot and hike in out of the way places!
Removed LaTrace and RandoGPS, which are no longer available
