About this app

This is the companion app for the families and staff using the Tapestry online learning journal in their school, nursery, or at their childminders.

You must be able to log into a Tapestry account in order to use this app.

The app is a pared-down version of the browser. You can use it to:

Create, view, edit, and comment on observations
View and comment on Memos and Activities
Log into your account quickly using a PIN or biometrics
Access and add to your child/children’s learning journal/s whilst offline
If you are a staff member, create and view Care Diary entries

Privacy & Data Protection:

The school/nursery/childminder that purchased the Tapestry
account is in charge of the data that is added to and stored in Tapestry; what
is added, how long it is kept for, and who can see it.

We at Tapestry only use the data you enter to
provide, fix and improve the service. We don’t use the data for marketing; we
don’t share the data with others to do marketing.

Ratings and reviews

Very old fashioned and basic. Famly app is much better and user-friendly, and you can have multiple interactions on posts with more features. I can not even update my contact details on here or see my child's other saved contacts. It doesn't display the preschool contact details either. I'm now having to use the Web browser to access it and save the tab to my home screen so I have more features then the app, but it's a very fiddly layout. Have to click back and forth to get to each section.

It's good that I'm able to see what my child has been doing during the day but this app has 2 flaws. One is a moderate annoyance, where the care diary keeps jumping back up to the top when I try to scroll through the list. The other is more a major annoyance where notifications come through hours late. So I have to periodically open the app to see if there are any notices. Even if I've already read it, the notification for it still comes through hours later.

It is so easy to use. Great platform to keep up to date on a child's progress. When my daughter started school, I was able to print a book of all the tapestry posts throughout her nursery journey, I actually got quite emotional looking at it all. I would recommend this platform to education settings. it was easy to have two different settings in one place, I had our nursery and separate school and could access each other without difficulty.
