Excellent writing as ever. App could include more stories on homepage - always seems to take quite a while to search around the app. Once issue downloaded the offline reading experience is great. Article layout also works very well.
I cannot und erstand complaints about the slowness of the app. It works fast, smooth and fluent for me. Yes, syncing new articles might take a bit longer than usual bit the quality and amount of articles is well worth the short wait. Works great on my super old Galaxy S3 LTE on Android 7.1.2
Not much changed on this latest version. Still feels heavy and slow. Won't start up completely this morning - simpler to use the website on your phone. Together with the problems with markets live, there's the aura that the ft does not have a grip on its IT.
The FT journalism is always outstandingly good. But the app moves in cycles from good to bad. A few months ago, after a major update, it was diabolical but it is now improving (on my Samsung Galaxy Pro Tab 10.1 2014 edition). However, continuing (and longstanding) irritants are: endless animated adverts (almost all the FT's own); poor injection of adverts between news pages; runs in "live" mode even when set to display the morning edition; persistently poor user support (which amounts to no more than telling you to delete the cache, uninstall the app and reinstall and then, when that doesn't work ... nothing).
Very laggy on Nexus 6P - disappointing for a 2017 app. It's just a newspaper, why is the performance so poor?
The app only shows the headlines, no any free articles to read. If you haven't got a paid subscription there is no point on keeping an app that only takes space in your phone
