HOW DOES IT WORK?

When you cross paths with a happn user, their profile appears on your application. Seen someone interesting? Like their profile in secret. We promise you, they won’t know a thing, unless they find you interesting too. Want to get noticed? Send them a FlashNote. That lets you send a message even before you Crush. And if they Like you back, it’s a Crush! Now you can chat: we’re counting on you to find the best opening line and hone your writing skills!

The happn app is free to download and use. If you want more advantages, you can subscribe to Premium. That gives you access to the list of people who have Liked you or to plenty of FlashNotes to contact your favourite people and get noticed.

At happn, confidentiality is our priority: your location is never visible to other members, only the places you have crossed paths with them are shown. Ratings and reviews

Originally this app was a great, very simple concept. You turn it on, you cross paths with somebody and if they have the app to you potentially could meet somebody interesting. The app has gone through so many different iterations it's completely strange. It's better now but what's annoying is the notifications. I open the app it says I have six notifications but actually have none. And when I open the messages it still says I have one even though it's zero.

Edit: after two months of using the paid version of the app, it continues to be worthless. It's not that I'm not getting any matches, it's that there is nobody to even match with. No one...ever. When I pull up the map, there are no icons but myself in the entire northern half of my state. Cool idea, but apparently, NO ONE USES THIS APP.

Its an interesting concept, except I have yet to find anything in the app that's actually supposed to help you find a match, other than where two users just happen to be at a given time. Also, it's incredibly slow to get matches unless you live in a city like New York or Atlanta. Matching was on all day at work for 2 days and as I went to the airport standing around a couple 100 people. For all of that time, I got 4 possible matches (none at the airport either). This app needs improvement.
