Clunky menu and touch options It's extremely difficult to navigate through the app by touch. I can't seem to find the motion or touch area to bring up the menu options to change between magazines. Also, the app need an ability store the downloaded magazines the external SD card.
Used to be decent This used to be an OK alternative to the physical magazine, but now it is most certainly not. With the newest version, I can't even download an issue to read. Doesn't matter if I stay in the app or close it, no download goes past 0%. Its a download, it should work in the background like it used to...
Not worth going digital. With my latest renewal of my GameStop Pro account, the clerk didn't ask and selected digital for my subscription to GameInformer. Finally got around to installing the app, and I have to say it sucks. It forces landscape mode which is just annoying. Also the font size is not adjustable, which is pretty tiny on my Nexus 7 (and know that with some exceptions, the Nexus 7 is about the largest Android tablet). Pretty useless overall. I will be going back to physical next renewal.
New issues should download automatically New issues should download automatically in background rather than sending an alert telling you that new issue is available. App should also give option to save issues to SD card rather than onboard storage
Useless Takes a really really long time to download a magazine. Progress of the download will disappear if you switch to another app. Time will tell if it actually downloaded. Not impressed at all. [Update] After 12 hours, no magazines downloaded. It seems that the app has to be active for downloads to work. [Update 2] when the screen turns off the download stops. So its an app to read a magazine that you can't get to. Ridiculous!
Needs work This is one of those, "developers don't like Android fragmentation" situation! The developers made a killer iOS version of this so they're certainly capable, but this Android version is all but failed. It runs on my Pixel C but it's buggy, crashes, low resolution, and has a bunch of test magazines. Do I blame Android or Game Informer? Both are at fault. Here's hoping the fix it for Marshmallow and up users.
version 1.9.0 ---- readers can now access issues that have already been downloaded while they are offline.
