The Beacon could help us establish connections with other Survivors, if there are any. With the connection established we would be able to aid each other in times of need.

The companion app for Frostpunk: The Board Game introduces a completely new and optional Trade game mode. It may also be used as a phase tracker and, among other features, it enhances your experience with immersive music from the video game.

The app is not required to play the tabletop game - using it is optional and introduces some new, alternative ways of resolving game rules and provides a measure of convenience.

In Frostpunk: The Board Game, in order to survive, you will need to constantly balance your decisions between managing and growing the city, and maintaining the morale and mood of its citizens. After the apocalyptic global cooling, the only heat comes from the Generator in the centre of the city. If you neglect it, everyone will freeze to death. The people who rely on your decisions are all that remains of humanity... Many lost their loved ones, and all of them were ripped from their previous lives and thrown into this new, harsh reality. They are the survivors, the ones that made it, but this does not mean they are dispassionate machines.

I swear the room was warm when I started this app. As we played, however, people started shivering impulsively. Put on coats even, just because the music and sound effects are that good. Very informative and well put together. Love all the info markers and help during phases it provides. This helped a lot while playing TBG, for sure. Noticed that it dose not seem to run in the background. I was hoping to have this going while driving, or while working around the house, just for the music.

Edit: It works again, thanks! Original review: This boardgame keeps rising above my expectations. This app was EXACTLY want I wanted it to be and more. I wanted the soundtrack,l and a soundboard. Not only does it deliver that, it is a rulebook, guide you through the turns, takes over the weather deck AND trade. 10/10. I love you guys

App works well. It's good as an aid to keep the group on track. I haven't had the chance to try the trade function yet, but the music and design are quite good and fir well with the theme.
