Review from Christophe Richard
I bought a GE air conditioner because of the WiFi capabilities yet it seems that the moment you're not on the same wireless network as the appliance, you can longer control it (the app states the appliance is OFFLINE, which it is not because I've confirmed the appliance, home router and WiFI are still function at those times). So the point of the app is to be a glorified, in home remote control? If it's WiFI connected, I should be able to access all the units functions from anywhere on the globe where I have an internet connection. Can you please update the app to facilitate this? Countless IoT appliances already do this so there isn't much R+D to do.
Wanted to control my window ac unit like I can with the remote it came with. My unit doesn't connect to wifi. This is useless.
Meh. It works, pretty basic. Doesn't integrate with my smart hub, doesn't work with Google assistant, home or nest. I can turn my ac on or off during commute home which is awesome but I don't think ge has any incentive to improve the app.
Pathetically weak app. Only gives set temp and mode. Missing useful stuff like power use, real temp, time in different modes, etc.
This new app is much faster and more responsive than the old for GeoSpring. Works flawless for me!
Like many other users, I am dissapointed I cant monitor actual water temp on my geospring unit. Also I cannot put the unit in Vacation mode from the android app. My wife tried and was successful using the iphone app. Dissapointed...
You have to create and account to use it I just wanted to see if it would work for a window unit
