About this app

This is a beta release of the meshtastic.org project. We'd love you to try it and tell us what you think. You'll need to buy an inexpensive ($30ish) radio from a variety of vendors to use this application, see our website for details. We don't make these devices.

***Please*** if you have questions: post on our forum and we'll work together to fix them (we are volunteer hobbyists).

This post is a good place to get started.

We would really appreciate good Google reviews if you think this is a good project.

Generally working as it should, but... 1. The bluetooth connection should reconnect automatically if a node has been selected from the list and you open the app, in case you were away from a node and come back. 2. The message, node and map lists should clear whenever you disconnect from a node. 3. The metrics graphs have "breaks" and "connections" where they shouldn't, during continuous "Up-time" they should be connected, using linear interpolation, otherwise there should be a break.

An alternative legal way to communicate when the web has died. Best to research a bit, set it up, test and tune, and keep it ready. It has very good points and some limitations. Meaning it's not FB, but more of a SMS messaging service you can set-up for your family, group, etc I use successfully my UHF antenna up on the roof. Meshtastic has made great efforts to make it as "user friendly" as possible Lots of help on YT, etc.

We have been relying on this system for backup comms for about a year. Generally love it. However, updates are too frequent for our application. We'll get it running reliably, then the app will update, which then requires a firmware update, and then when we have gone through the rigamarole of getting all devices updated and synched, it may run less reliably until yet another update. I understand the need to adapt to new user's needs with new devices. But stability over features please.
