Maven is great and very affordable. I'm a little perplexed by some of the complaints I read on here. I rarely have $50 in my account and have never had a problem reserving a Maven vehicle nor has my account ever been locked even when I kept extending multiple days not paying attention to my card balance they locked me out of the vehicle but one quick phone call they unlocked the vehicle and I was able to continue until the end of my reservation. Customer service has been excellent. The birth year issue is a non issue is a drop down, select your year and nothing to it. Must membership services require a car to join.
I honestly love the concept of Maven and had planned on using it today to drive to my eye appointment. But the support and structure is piss poor. Why must I have $50 or more on my credit card for a $23 reservation? After finding out about this rule, I transferred money from my savings to my credit card. And still got the error, and my account became locked. I called support and the only thing they can do is say sorry. Once your account is locked, expect to wait about 7 business days to hear a response. Why 7 business days? It's not as if Maven has millions of cars being used at the same time? C'mon GM, don't halfass ridrsharing like you do with your other cars and services. I'm really disappointed at the policy and that my issue can't be resolved by customer service within minutes or even an hour.
The app was easy to use. I saw that users were frustrated with the DOB year function however all you have to do is touch "1999" and a quick and easy list of years to choose from appears. It's pretty intuitive.
Date of birth field is the single most poorly designed thing I have ever seen in an app. Are you f****ng kidding?!? Even after I got passed the literal 5 minutes of scrolling to get to my birth date, the app crashed on the driver's license info screen (Nexus 5 with stock Android). Abysmal.
Maven Maven Maven This app could really be a Awesome thing, but the customer service is gonna kill this company!!! There's no sense of urgency with this company...I was paused in my tracks due to a simple log in issue that then locked my account for 7days until a manager could unlock my account. My rental was time sensitive due to issues with my personal car,and I thought maven could be the savior to make sure I could make it to work the next a.m., but that never happened!! I called Maven thinking that maybe they could speed up the process of unlocking my account,but the customer service level is non existent and was told that I would just have to wait it out.. If I can't access my account to make rentals then maven makes no money, those 7 days are 7 days less of money for maven...how could they be so ill prepared to properly handle the concerns of there customers??? How??? UPDATE!!!! Maven is still the worst!!!!!
The app is okay. But the price to rent a Chevy vehicle is just outrageous. Who's spending $227 per day for a 2016 Cadillac or a Chevy? Overpriced, ridiculous and unethical.
