WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM
Crime and incident reports are aggregated from publicly available government and law-enforcement open-data sources (city and county open-data portals). Live 911 calls come from public dispatch feeds where a jurisdiction publishes them. Severe-weather alerts come from the U.S. National Weather Service (NOAA/NWS). Coverage and reporting speed vary by area: some publish in near real time, others daily, and some publish no data at all.
IMPORTANT
Crime Map is an independent app and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any law-enforcement agency, 911 center, or government body. The data is shown for general information only, may be incomplete or delayed, and is not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, always call 911.
