Aladdin Connect allows you to monitor and control you garage door from anywhere. The Aladdin Connect app works with any Genie Wi-Fi-enabled garage door opener or retrofit kit and can be set up in minutes. The app controls up to 20 garage door openers or retrofit kits and allows you to do the following:

· Open or close the door from your smartphone

· Check whether the door is open or closed from anywhere, using your smartphone

· Get notified if your door is opened or closed and customize notifications

· Add up to 20 family or guest users and get notified when they operate the door

for about a year, the app forced us to sign in every month or so and it was disabled until you did- this was very inconvenient as we never knew when it would let us down. Past year or so seems to be far better, I assume they fixed that problem. Otherwise this is very useful and can help protect your home. You can set up a timer for auto-close, so if the kids leave it open it will shut in xyz hours.

I have a competitors app for our second home. It has one feature that Aladdin lacks that makes it a better, more secure app. In the competitors app, you have the option to require a 4 digit numerical pin every time the app is opened. For security, that ability makes it far superior. I would think that would be an easily accomplished change to this app to make it similar to the one that rhymes with ByQ.

Software is simple and hasnt required any updates [using for 2 weeks thus far] and is very intuitive. My only complaint is that from time to time I get a 'door timed out' error and it does not allow me to open the garage door. After a few moments the error clears and I'm able to open the door. Our router is 5' from the opener. requires no fee or subscription which I appreciate.
