The Firecast OnSight mobile app is part of the Firecast OnSight platform for collecting and analyzing field observations across the globe. Co-developed by Conservation International and GeoVisual Analytics, Firecast OnSight facilitates the collection, management and analysis of on-the-ground observations to validate evidence of ecosystem disturbances detected by satellite observations and provided through the Firecast program. These may include fires, fire risk conditions, deforestation, and protected area encroachment.
Users of the Firecast OnSight mobile app record field observations and capture photos. All observational data is delivered through the cloud and made available on the Firecast OnSight web dashboard. Observations, photos and their metadata can be viewed spatially, correlated with Firecast active fire alerts, filtered by attribute and exported for further analysis.
We acknowledge the use of data and imagery from the Firecast system operated by Conservation International with funding provided by NASA and support from Esri. We also acknowledge the use of Firecast data from the Land Atmosphere Near-real time Capability for EOS (LANCE) system operated by the NASA/GSFC/Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) with funding provided by NASA/HQ.
