It worked well. Had to move apartments so I rented a minivan. I took like 50 photos before and after to show all scratches, dings, etc and the mileage after reading some horror stories on here. Overall it went great. The minivan worked well, I moved my things, filled the gas, and drove it back. Only complaints are the "young driver" fee (I get it, but it's not like I'm going racing in a minivan) and the photo upload fails like 1/2 the time. Would use it again.
The app works well for the car rental aspect. However, my car inspection submission has failed for my last 2 trips (app used to crash on inspection submission, so kudos on the band-aid fix, I guess?). And I don't get notified of the failure until after I have already returned the car. I know Getaround has claimed to fix issues surrounding inspection submissions on certain devices, but I am running the latest version on a Pixel XL and still seeing these failures. Unless Getaround is willing to assume liability for vehicle damage and empty gas tanks, this is a pretty glaring issue to have. I really like the proce and convenience of this service, but the higher price of other similar services is worth the peace of mind that Getaround fails to give me.
A solid alternative to established car rentals, with stable prices at peak holidays.
Not the greatest customer service and the cars are not always the most clean, however it's reasonably priced and moderately convenient.
love the figure that this app lets you rent out your car by hour and integrates lock/unlock/tracking features in the app
Easy to use and has all the features you'd want, except sort by price
* Renters can now cancel trips from the app
* Updated the UI of the trip screen to have a new menu
* Fixed a bug where some Android devices had trouble uploading inspection photos
* Fixed a bug where some users saw strange error messages indicating their session was expired
* Lots of other small bugfixes and improvements
