EDIT: Buggy app. Hangs after every meditation session. Emailed support 4 days ago, haven't heard back. Do not recommend for Android phones. Great but ironic. Meditation/Buddhism can free us of attatchments. But this is a subscription-based business model. To survive, they do an excellent job of gamifying the experience and making us attached to the app ;)

The concept of this app is great. But the price is INSANE. And anything worthwhile is locked away for subscribers. 124$ a year?? I would love to get this to use with my students, but unlike other meditation apps like Pacifica they don't even have a limited selection available to non subscribers. Obviously all this ten percent happier guy cares about with this app is profit over helping people. I thought this app was the best thing ever until I realized it was locked away for a $100+ fee.

I hope this review gets out to others. This app is great and helps people focus on relaxing and calming themselves, but people must understand that it isn't true meditation. its a newer western form of it. It won't help you spiritually, and this is backed by the fact that no spiritually inclined person would ever charge so much to share what they knew with others. Feel free to use the app but don't treat it as some sort of enlightening app that will turn you into a shaman, its more so a app to help calm yourself and give your life a little break every so often.

This app and series of meditative recordings are great, giving back some mental health to myself. Only wish I had known about it sooner! It does drop sessions from time to time though and that's more recently and on android (for me). Perhaps the latest release did something that can be fixed?

I've finished the foundation pack, 30 days and bought a month to try out and I will definitely be continuing. I just started the "anxiety" pack. Thirty-four days in and I really can feel a difference. Extremely powerful tools and having Andy guide you through as your own digital sensei is really nice and creates a sense of consistency. Sure you can cobble together your own meditation through YouTube or other free apps but this is the whole package, and so far it's been so worth it for me.

I have been meditating for years and really struggled to get any benefit from it for the last few years. Headspace has really helped me to get back to what its all really about and the benefit has been really profound. Ive got the calmness and easiness back ive been missing for the last 8 or 9 years. I've noticed a greater patience through doing this as well. Patience has often escaped me when I couldnt have done with it the most. Im still on the take 10 free part and exercising some of that patience, once done i'll move onto the subscription.

Being diagnosed with ADHD, I tried the YouTube tutorials on mindfulness meditation as its highly recommended but to no avail. It was a constant struggle to commit and in the end I gave up. Discovering headspace changed my life, and I couldn't be any more grateful to Andy for how simplified Headspace makes meditation for people like myself. Thanks again Andy and all the best with your success, truly deserved.
I'm halfway through the free trial "take 10" meditations and I am really loving it. This is so good for people with anxiety/stress disorders and Andy has the perfect voice for it too. Perfect for people who have yet to find meditation helpful. I also like that I'm not being told to "free your mind" and instead that it's normal to have a busy mind and there are ways to help relax it in by just taking notice of the senses in a way. My only complaint is that it costs so much especially for something made to help people.
Love the app so I purchased for annual membership.Andy speaking is calm and easy to understanding. His method is practical and make senses. I would love to see if the app may have a compassion meditation in the future. But sometimes I got a problem which is date counting.For example, I listened to day 19 already but next day the day 19 session still repeated once again instead of moving forward to day 20.
I have ptsd, and my mind is always racing , but with this app I actually am able to relax. I don't know if it's his voice or how easy he makes it but it works for me and I didn't think that I would ever be able to meditate. Your brain is like every other muscle in your body, you have to exercise it and actually do these medications everyday. If you do you'll definitely feel more relaxed. Best choice I made to download this
The app works great on my phone (S7) but I don't really see the appeal to getting a paid subscription. I can easily listen to meditations in a variety of lengths, on a variety of topics from YouTube, and it doesn't cost me anything at all. Why pay $11 a month when the same thing is free online?
I wasn't convinced that this would work for me. My prior experience with mindfulness exercises was led by serious people in very serious settings and I thought that would be the only way I could find that "settled" feeling. I tried the app because I was struggling to find the time to set up appointments for guided meditation. The app has been an eye opener in showing me that the work of mindfulness is actually done by me - the app is a great assist, but it's me who actually determines the success of the session. It's a good tool and after the first 10 sessions, I'm ready to get into a subscription and have this tool available whenever I need it. tx.
I heard about this from watching Ellen and thought I would try it. I have been told meditation works. I do it right before bed and I feel very relaxed. And like Ellen says it really does sound like the geico lizard is talking you through mediation. It's not always easy but everyone should give mediation and this app a chance.
Really takes the pressure out of meditating and any worries I had about statting were lifted from the first session onwards. Have to say the narrator is especially good. I've just finished Day 4 and hope that the time we're left alone with our thoughts gradually increases. Looking forward to discovering more!
Wow, simply... Wow Never mediated, tried a few months ago and I struggled. I even tried headspace then and i could not do it. I pursued more this time, and now headspace has won me over. I can honestly see this being a part of my life now. The importance of headspace should be put alongside my gym workouts and early nights. 5/5 Thank you.
There are 2 types of apps-Free & Paid. But Headspace is a smart app that makes u feel intelligent by repeating the same thing over n over for 10 days and by the end making you believe that if you purchase/subscribe you'll be able to open up a world of amazing knowledge and spiritual gain. Alas! It's such a paradox. Just by getting a great voice-over artist to do your voice does not qualify you to be a spiritual guru or capable of giving spiritual experiences. It's a fluke. Damn!
Easy to use and diverse app. Has really helped to get on top of my anxiety. I'm looking forward to doing some of the relationship series including patience and kindness. Because I used the app for 15 consecutive days, I was given a month subscription for a friend - very generous - thanks!
Been wanting too get into mediatation for a while now but all courses seemed expspensive I didnt even know such apps existed until I got an email saying I was eligble for premium as I had spotify. I am on day 5 of the take 10 and I can honestly say I am in love. This app has been everything i hoped too gain from meditation and more and I cant wait too explore and complete all the sessions
At 62, I have long contended with the impact of ADHD and the concomitant tag alongs - stress, anxiety, depression. Headspace offers an approach to meditation that starts in 10 minute increments and makes entry into the practice straight forward and free of the typical Eastern format usually associated with the discipline. 100 days update - calmly, gently, smoothly changing my life for better.
I love this app, the guy's voice is so relaxing I have actually fallen asleep during the session and at the end. I have completed the free take 10 but unfortunately the subscription options are a little out of reach for me pricewise at the moment. If a cheaper option was ever available I would snap it up as I really found this practice a huge benefit to the way I feel each day
The guy who talks has a calm voice and it's easy to follow. I listen to it every day before bed and after I find it easier to go to sleep and I wake up feeling pretty good. Defenently would recommended this to everyone. I've been harassing my flatmate to try it. I will get him using it!
I've been dealing with grief not only because of a death in the family but also from a broken relationship. This really helps me calm down and take a moment for myself, and then afterwards I'm able to think clearly what I can do to make things go smoothly in my own life. I haven't subscribed yet but I definitely will after the 10 days. This is a must for my life.
I was sceptical at first - I've already done meditation in the past and didn't think guided sessions would bring anything. I was wrong! Andy's voice is a great fit, and it does away with any zen/new age feely stuff and feels very compatible with modern life. Highly recommended
There is such diversity in meditation, yet this has really helped me find my inner voice. I've tried counting many times and always have to start over because I would wander off. Headspace has helped me realize that is ok while I'm finding my rhythm. My anxiety is down after only one week. I'm going to let my toddler in on it. Toddlers are learning about emotions and feelings. I only with I had this at that age. Thank you! Revolutionary
Headspace does a great job of providing the practice needed to gently shift the attention back to any task at hand and to feel at ease while maintaining focus. My one complaint is that the app doesn't allow progress through more than one module at once without losing progress in one of them.
I'm only on day 5, but this is exactly what I needed to teach me meditation. Love it and it's helping to calm me. Well...now on day 21 and app consistently stops within the first 5 mins making me "come out" and restart, regardless of uninstall/reinstall AND airplane mode. I am still hopeful, but very frustrated.

Kateland, HQ Nice programme of meditation and mindfulness. A few bugs. Can hang a little, audio would be better if normalised, pause button doesn't work (Not generally needed), ability to choose length of today's mediation would also be helpful. Otherwise very nice app usability. Would be a 5 if no bugs.
This is strictly reviewing the free portion of the app. A great app to remind me that I need to take some time everyday for myself. The app has closed without notifying me during a meditation session and it crashed when I was first starting my sessions on the first animation on a fully patched and supported Nexus device. For those two reasons I cannot commit to using the app any longer.

Kateland, HQ Great daily meditations that are quick and lead you step by step. I haven't used any of the subscription services, so can't comment on those. I'm on day 5 of the 10 day free guided meditation and it has been very effective for centering myself when I'm feeling really anxious.
A high monthly subscription fee? You guys know you can get all of this for free on the internet right? Make a one time fee for the rest of the content and people might buy it. I don't like all the fake five star reviews. You are better than that.
I've been using this app everyday, sometimes with an SOS too, for over 3 months and has changed my health: physically and mentally. I've lowered my blood pressure and revert to the techniques when under extreme stress. I often go to sleep with it. I've passed it on to several friends. It's been an eye opener. Thank you. I'm glad my daughter told me about it.
The app needs a a simple contact link URL to simply send an email. Contacting them is difficult. When I tried to submit a message it said it was offline. When I try to submit the alternate email option they give because they're offline it doesn't allow me to close the "Have you tried this?" portion so I can't submit the message.

Kateland, HQ It's really the best app I've found. Easy to start but doesn't talk down to you. Many options for different focus areas after getting the basics down. It's expensive for sure... I'd say look for coupons to help cause it's not cheap but it's worth it (sort of like a gym membership having paid for it might even keep you motivated)
Really loving the app so far and considering a subscription. However, I was wondering if you guys are planning on introducing sessions in other languages? I've been recommending the app to friends and family and would really appreciate a Portuguese language pack of some sort so I can show it to some native Portuguese speakers.
Love it. Not new to meditation but new to fitting it in with 3 children and needing for a health condition. This has been the most effective way I have found to fit in 1 or 2 meditations every day. 32days now and everyone in the family is noticing a difference. Thanks Andy. Just awesome.
I love this app! I don't use it as often as I should, but when I do, I feel deeply relaxed. I tend to suffer from anxiety and it's gotten worse now that I'm menopausal. Since using this app I panic a lot less at work (I'm a batista at a buisy coffee bar) and perform better. The excercise for sleep has been a tremendous help; my body feels so heavy, it's as if I'm stuck to the mattress with velcro, and I have a deep, restful sleep. I highly recommend this app.
I have practiced before but this gives me a much better direction than on my own. I wish after 10 I didn't have to pay for more as I have gained such a better understanding of what and how to get in to the zone of setting my mind free. I feel I am ready for longer sessions already. I just can't afford to pay for this and hope these basics make it possible to practice in a better way on my own. Thank you. I feel relaxed and refreshed after these sessions.
I can't show enough love for this app. The free content does the job everytime. It's simple and unpretentious. The guide's voice is relaxing, but not too deliberate. It has proven a really effective tool for allowing me to find peace in tue midst of chaos.
This app is amazing. Full of really well thought out packs and all with Andy's calm reassuring voice. I cannot praise this app enough. In such a busy demanding world we all need some head space and this fantastic app helps us find it.Thank you.
I find this app so useful having going through an anxious/depressed phase it has really put life in perspective. Makes me appreciate the little things becoming more mindful which I never thought it would do - just wanted to relax at first! Amazing what ten minutes everyday over time can do.
