Excellent mindfulness training Even for an absolutely uninitiated, Headspace is one if the easiest and effective indication into meditation
Great App! I feel so much more focused! But it won't track my progress! This app has helped me deal with a lot of self inflicted frustration and tension! Animations are super cute and make for great guidelines on how to think (or not think). Only problem is that my progress counters are not working. I'm using a HTC M9.
Helped my ANXIETY I started using it because I am an anxious person and was starting to have blood pressure issues. It truly helps reduce my BP and make me feel better. I sneak out to my car at lunch to do it everyday on work days. Ots addictive and calming. I'm trying to get my kids & Grandbabies into it
I learned to meditate through Sahaja Yoga meditation. Lately, I've been branching out to try other methods and see what fits me best. I had high hopes for Headspace. The narration is nicely delivered. The metaphors and techniques are simple and "no frills" meditation. That makes it easily accessible for most people. My one serious complaint with the narration is that the volume of it changes considerably throughout. The narrator will go from a very bold voice at first to a really quiet one later on, sometimes making it hard to hear all that is being said in the quieter spots if you aren't using headphones. For me, I found Headspace too repetitive. The first 10 exercises didn't really build on each other so much as they were repetitions of the same concepts, though sometimes you were asked to take notice of a different aspect or think of a different metaphor. I have trouble staying focused on guided meditations if they get too repetitive, so this wasn't super effective for me. I'm not fond of paying to learn meditations since there are many free resources out there, but others might like it. The first 10 are free and worth trying.
Infuriating Andy's voice and manner of talking are very annoying and makes the guided medication experience more infuriating than relaxing. He talks way too much and really slowly saying superfluous things and barely gives you any time to relax.
Headspace for life. I started headspace because I was suffering from depression, anxiety and stress. I saw an ad and thought I'd try. I loved how I felt from the first day I tried it. It helped me to take time to care for myself, it is repetitive but in a way that helps me to remember how to stay focused while meditating. It works wonders for anyone suffering from negative cognitive issues or negative self talk. It is worth every penny.
