I used this app when I was going through some difficult times while I was pregnant. Worked great! Fast forward a couple years and I'm going through some stuff so wanted to get back in to it... What the heck?!? Everything is locked unless I buy a subscription! There isn't even a few videos unlocked so you get enticed... Basics are even locked!!! Totally has gone downhill! Do not waste your money!

We appreciate your feedback. We recently updated the Headspace app to allow all new members to unlock the entire Headspace library through our free trial. We still offer free content outside of the app on social media channels like YouTube, Snapchat, and Instagram, plus our podcast Radio Headspace and our series on Netflix

I paid the subscription fee. On the first day, right in the middle of the splash page (in between the first few guided meditations) is a full-width banner asking me to upgrade to an annual subscription with some $$$ savings thrown in my face. I'm guessing that's always there? To help me "relax" by thinking about the money I'm wasting on a monthly sub? The monetization is too intrusive for me to get the intended benefit of this app. Whatever. Get that bag I guess. Not for me. Animations are nice.

App design is pretty awful. The UX is, quite ironically, cluttered unfocused. The guided meditations, similarly, don't leave much actual space for quiet meditation. The instructors feel the need to constantly be chattering on about random things, which in my opinion defeats the whole purpose. This is a great app to expose you to the basics of meditation. After that, you're much better off just putting on some ambient music and being with yourself.

What's new

A steady meditation practice can calm the mind. But sometimes a bug appears in the app and it distracts us. We removed that bug from this latest version, and we already feel more at ease.
