Why this great base product, combined with generic product (you got it, the product isn't a browser combined with Ghostery) isn't the best of solutions. It's because there's also AdBlock Browser, LastPass Browser, etc. etc. - That's the thing about it, even if one speciality is more important than the rest together, there's a reason that all exist as browser extensions only, you will most certainly find the browser to be lacking in comparison to those that were built as browsers first - because the latter ones prioritize on the whole browser, and many include features that equal to one or more of these. Unfortunately very few mobile browsers even support add-ons, and really only one is openly documented, hosts 3rd party add-ons, and is the only PC browser not made by idiots stupid enough to ditch add-ons totally when they forked off to mobile: FireFox, and I do think there's not another browser which Ghostery has been implemented on, and it also has all of the others available - too bad that in comparison, unlike it's desktop counterpart (and Firefox Mobile before Android, on Nokia N900's Maemo OS), it ditched all good UI and page rendering implementations to make sites possible to view and enjoy even on phones and were worst UI ever instead. On tablets I still use three others for stuff not even add-ons can make up for.
I've used the Ghostery extension on five desktop browsers -- Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Vivaldi, and Edge-- and in comparison, this seems like it needs some more love. I'm using Firefox with your extension for mobile browsing, (Brave for the other half) and would love to switch, but the app doesn't seem to have decided which of three design languages to work in. However, I understand if it isn't a high priority. Your other work is simply a hard act to follow!
Generally good. Better at blocking ads then ad-blockers. Tab management could be implemented better, default chromium would be better then the current, Firefox lookalike would be great. I love the auto pause & resume in full screen for videos. But shame the video & audio keep going out of sync 95% of the time. Same on the Firefox extension too (Android). No issues on desktop Firefox extension, 5* there.
Excellent! I've refused to have a g+ profile for many years, until today, but this browser has earned my respect, trust & admiration for speed/functionality/privacy and respect for me as a user, so much so that I created g+ profile just to rate Ghostery 5 stars! And that is a BIG compliment from me! The browser just ended my mobile internet headaches after years of searching!! Bravo.
One of the best browsers available. It's lightweight, fast and simple. Does it's job properly without forcing tons of features you don't need, rather offering extra safety measures including the obvious block of all trackers. Unfortunately, unlike the desktop extension, you cannot choose which trackers to block, rather working on an "everything or nothing" way.
Cookies are NOT being deleted, neither manually nor if set to do so on exit. Proof is that I dont have to log into accounts even though I would have to IF all cookies would be deleted on exit. Videos dont work at all or with sound interuption when integrated in sites (e.g. youtube vid shown on another site). If a video works and one is scrolling down the sound interupts while scrolling. Opening several tabs made the browser unresponsible (maybe it was the vid in the active tab). After exiting Ghostery is still in the open apps list which might be the reason for not deleting the cookies on exit according to the settings. Also logins are being saved even though everything should be deleted on exit. So much to "We respect your privacy!"
