Superb app that's worth the price and then some The Writing Chinese Characters program is truly a first-class app that has not only exceeded my expectations, but it's also the best value for my money that I've ever spent on learning Mandarin. Let me explain. I'm a native-English speaking Canadian who started trying to learn Mandarin two years ago before my trip to Taiwan with my partner, and I've done many other Chinese programs that cost a lot more: Living Language, Pimsleur of course, and the "Chinese Characters" books by Lo Chiung-Yu. At first, I was reluctant to spend $10 on this app. This app, however, is really a bargain. On my HTC 601, the app has never malfunctioned. It's meticulously made: both traditional and simplified characters, detailed explanations, and customizable review loops, even with excellent pronunciation audio. Its character set is truly massive: a treasure trove. The only thing hindering my learning is my lack of time. This app has turned my phone into Chinese school, and I'm probably going to get all their other apps. If you want to learn Chinese writing on your phone, you've found what you're looking for. This app represents, in my opinion, the best of what modern phone apps can do.
Please fix! First off, this is a great idea. This app, however still needs improvement. The most irratating bug I came across is that everytime I press the back button or home screen, the app freezes and shuts down. Please fix! i can‘t even use this app with this pestering problem. I am a paying customer and with this said, I expect a usable product. Secondly, a word list that i can modify would be extremely useful if not practical. I‘m all about organization and tracking my daily words would be great!
Very helpful I like that the app shows the 7 most frequently words, phrase associated with a character.so not do you learn 為, but 作為，為了，成為， 因為，認為。。。you get the point. This is how learning should be.
