Developer responds! Just released an update tonight (2016-06-15) that fixes the updates. (Note to developer - please make this a configurable option under troubleshooting in case it is needed again.)
Latest update solved the problem! Thank you! UPDATE: App is 100% good and functional again... back to 5 stars! EARLIER POST: Says "error contacting NWS feed." Same problem as many posting here. Sent troubleshooting reports to developer.
Fixed, but still an issue Pollong takes place at the specified intervals, but alerts are sometimes not picked up until the actual start time (i.e. Flash Flood Watch issued at 3:30PM does not appear until the start time of 7PM)
Don't be ripped off. It SUCKS. LIES This app is an absolute joke period. after trying to contact someone, I have repeatedly been ignored. It will work fine for a few days. And then you will get a "unable to establish a contact with the National Weather Service feed, alerts may not be accurate." And then after that happens, good luck getting anybody to respond. And why should they? Their money has been made, and they can hide behind the anonymity of the internet. There are better apps out there.
Not receiving alert notifications The latest update solved my NWS access problem and I am getting alerts again. But I'm not receiving any notifications - sound or text. Even if I activate the Test Location for troubleshooting. Nothing at all in the status bar, even for repeat alerts... Unfortunately, I missed two Severe Thunderstorm Warnings today... :-( Fix the notification problem and I'll update my rating to 5... UPDATE... I turned on Test Location and I have been receiving different alert levels. Still no notifications...
Absolutely Must Have App! I love this app! Keeps me up to date on severe weather wherever I go plus the weather at home when I'm away so I can give my wife a heads up. iOS has nothing like this, unfortunately, so she doesn't receive alerts. Please build an iOS version! Make sure you buy the pro version to get all of the awesome features!!!
Fixed a problem with the NWS URL changing that was preventing access.
When all you care to know about the weather is if it's about to kill you or not.
Storm Shield provides storm-based alerts like a NOAA Emergency Weather Radio.
