Loving the content. But have plenty of issues with the playback on Sony Experia Z5 Compact. 1. Especially before the end of a longer (15min+) piece it skips through to the next one before finishing the prior. When looking at the UI it displays the item I was listening to previously. 2. Skipping to the next doesnt autoplay when I was already listing to something which feels counterintuitive. 3. I had occasions where the app was closed but was still playing, not quite sure how to reproduce at the moment. Happy to up the rating when its less buggy :)

FIVE Stars-for the content. As for the app itself, lots of work to be done.. Most of these issues have been mentioned by previous users, but I'll list 3 of the 'show stoppers' quickly : 1. Sound playback does not use native API, therefore playback cannot be controlled from headset or lockscreen. 2. Longer content gets cut off around the 15 minute mark. 3. No synchronization of 'favourites' between devices/web. Keep up the great work.

Already outstanding Still in beta, but already outstanding. Great narration, and several quality content partners with diverse and thoughtful long-form print journalism to explore. I look forward to what the future may hold for Curio.io. Finally an app that may not only replace, but also out-perform the work done by the now defunct Umano.

I really like this app and the content on it. It is certainly underrated and therefore my complaints are minimal since I understand there is a budget problem. Complaints, 1. I'd like tp be able to easily acceess audio artivles that are playing, I'd like it to show in my profile or something of the sort. 2. I'd like to be able to download content.

Beta, fine, OK. But this is the kind of infuriating, too smart by half app that shows how wrong design has gone in the age of apps. Mysterious star, gray or black to download? And what does "playlists" mean?! Anyway why not just RSS? Curio's great production values show they want to carve out their own niche, and a spare, uncluttered app is a part. But this unintelligible app is a failure. Ugh.
Really a very enjoyable experance. It's my love of audiobooks, podcasts and rss readers all combined for a great results. The selection and range of content wonderful and the the narrators a good. I also like the follow along link. Its nothing more then taking you to the original article but i still find that nice. The app itself is simple and works well. I appreciate that playback continues while browsing for other stories. One big drawback of the design is loosing track of the audio clip your currently listening too. If you leave the story finding it again can be hard. It would be nice if there were persistent controls that stayed with you as you browse (like a lot of audio players). There is also no audio controls in the notifications. It might also be nice to someday have a queue, so i can add stories as i find them and keep listening. Also the playlists are displayed by date, but from the dropdown also have titles. It might be nice to have the titles along with the date as its more likely to peak my interest.

Thanks very much for your review Kasper and for taking the time to provide this feedback. This is very much the beta and the tech does have issues. We are working on it and there will be an update in the next few months. Stay tuned! And in the meantime, hope you continue to enjoy listening:) FIVE Stars-for the content. Hi Daniel, thanks a lot for the feedback. We are working on a new release of the app in the next few weeks and that will address all the issues you are facing currently. After that, you'll get to enjoy the brilliant content with a much better app! Already outstanding Still in beta, but already outstanding. Hi, thanks a lot for your review and understanding. You can download content by tapping on the Star at the top right of the player screen for any piece. Ugh.

Hi Steven, thanks for trying out curio.io and for your review. We are currently working on an update which should address many design concerns. As for playlists, we thought they may be useful. But could we request you to get in touch at listen@curiolabs.co.uk and give us a bit more detail. We would love to address that as well. Hi, thanks very much for your feedback. We are going to be releasing a new version of the app in the next few weeks which will address all the usage issues you're facing and also offer you the ability to create your own library. The most horrible app I've ever seen. Playback cuts off randomly. Once you minimize it, there's no way to pause playback. I picked up a call once and it started playing through the loudspeakers during the call. Autoplay on idle doesn't work. I love curio, but holy hell the app is so horrible.

Hi, really sorry about your experience with the app. We are going to be releasing a brand new app in the next couple of weeks, which will address all of these issues and more. Great content It's been a lot of fun so far, the only problem is the player doesn't let you replay and when it goes to the next reading you have to go back to the home and look for the icon to know exactly what you're listening, minor problem, though.

HI Alejandro, thanks a lot for checking out curio.io and for your feedback. We are working on a completely new app now, which should be released in a couple of months. That will fix this problem and many more. In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy listening! I have trouble with audio when the screen turns off. Had to turn off the authomatic sleep in the settings, but that kills the battery faster.

Hi Marta, thanks a lot for trying out curio.io and for your review. We are in the process of developing a completely new version of the app, which will solve this issue and many more. Thanks for your patience! Great inclusive app This is an excellent little app that will make you think, laughter, cry and give you all the feels.
I respect the efforts Keep on with the efforts, curio.io ! It is helping a lot if people. I use it to further increase my attention span. Eventually towards reading the articles. However, the experience can be further improved; which i am sure you are doing that

Hi Malay, thanks so much for your feedback. We are working on a new app now and it will bring you an all-new user experience when it is released soon. Hope you continue to enjoy listening in the meantime! Doesn't work on Android 7 - just shows launch screen and never launches.
Addictive The content is really fantastic. This makes it very special. The narration is top notch. It's much more than just an app. There's something for everyone. All of it excellent.
Accessible with a good selection of articles and narratiom (LG G4) I would like to see a 15 second rewind button on the player. Also, I can't control the player from my notification bar or lock screen.

Hi Daniel, thanks very much for your review and comments. The app is very much a beta and we are working on a new release with a very improved player. In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy listening! Thanks to the developer's reply. To read the original article, you have to enter the player screen, scroll down, and hit the "read along" button.
Curio Labs January 29, 2017
Hi Tony, on the player screen, you should see a link that says "read along" towards the bottom. That contains a link to the original article. Best out there Great way to listen to something when you can't or don't want to read. Would be great if the was a way to suggest articles you want to be added next (perhaps by email?)
A must to have! This is a part of my everyday routine. Amazing choice of articles. Great narrators. For free!!

Thanks for the review Abdullah! Love it! Great variety of content. Looking forward to future productions. As a suggestion, please consider adding ability to playback at different speeds. Keep up the great work.

Thanks a lot Phi! All our focus has been on content so far, but we are now working on a new version of the app, which will have the feature you're asking for and more. I love this! I have one suggestion. Make a separate tab for the player only. The app keeps playing other stories, but I have to go find it in order to stop it.
Curio Labs December 26, 2016
Hi Diego, thanks a lot for your review. Our new app which will be released in a couple of months will have that feature and many more. Thanks for your patience till then! Been listening to curio for months now and the content is superb! Quality narrators offering exquisite and top class articles lifts and stirs my mind everyday.
Suggestion to player You guys can add a pause for when the internet connection is down, so that it resumes from last played second. Currently it resumes from the beginning.
