Terrible app!! Consumers beware! Rates some chemical ridden, drugstore products as safe and highly recommended. I did a quick comparison with some of my organic products and, those that had a review, scored poorly compared to drugstore products containing ingredients such as methylparaben and propylparaben. These chemicals are endrochin disruptors, cause cancer, and create developmental and reproductive toxicity. For example, a CVS sunscreen got a 10 rating, which is the best possible rating a product can get using this app. Only three ingredients are listed for this product, yet the full list of inactive ingredients, including cancer causing parabens, were not listed. Consumers can check for ingredient safety and likely get better and more accurate information by doing a quick Google search.
Doesn't have products listed. Says that we haven't rated this product yet. Tried on more than 5 products
UPC scanning isn't syncing with db. Products shown as not listed are in the database.
Needs improvement The last version of this app was better. When I was in the grocery store, I would scan items and the app would recognize it. Now, it doesn't recognize the same products it recognized before (I tried it out on my lotion bottles at home). I've noticed that the website also contains many fewer products than it did before. The other problem with this app is that it takes a long to load the different screens. Please make these improvement or get rid of the app altogether!
So good idea, so bad app Scanner barely read the code, if it finally does, no product is find in your database..
Excellent! Very informative, and possibly helped me keep my family safe from harmful toxins. There were some that caused cancer or inheritible genetic damage. Just as a few examples.
Search and scan safe and healthy consumer products based on scientific ratings. New improvements to UPC scanner.
