Routers and extensions are usually an absolute pain to set up and keep connected. The Google Wi-Fi has the easiest setup and most reliable connection I've ever used. Now my entire house is covered with no lags, no drops, and consistent speeds. One of the features I like is the ability to prioritize a device on this system. Say I am watching the big TV in the basement, I can tell the Google to prioritize that device for up to 4 hours. I no longer feel the need to pay more for higher internet speed as everything is covered without lagging.
We are techies used to setting up our own routers. This product does everything you need and it's super easy. It has port forwarding, don't let other reviews fool you. 4 stars because app colors are wrong for Google logo. Blue to green, green to yellow, yellow to red, red to blue. Looks weird next to other Google apps as a result. Edit: I'm removing another star because you can't control the channeling. I'd like to be and to turn off the 2.4 or 5 ghz at will and would like to be able to force which channel in the spectrum it uses.
Had to do a factory reset on my crappy Android phone. M And now my piece of crap Android phone won't connect to my piece of crap googled wifi on hub router. It only saves the wifi without connecting! Otherwise devices connect just fine. And yes I'm using the correct password.
It's not bad. I have a nice suggestion to make life so much easier. When I share the guest password, you guys send a website link, and it's not easy to get the password off the link. If you could somehow make it selectable as is your weblink, that would make it so much easier for my guest to copy/paste password.
Good luck trying to figure out why it doesn't work if anything goes wrong. There are no troubleshooting tools in this app. And I mean nothing. It will tell you that an access point is offline and nothing else. No error log or even a simple message.
The data history is wrong. It shows I have used 13 GB total, 89gb on the Xbox, and 21 on my tablet. Why can it not give me an accurate count on my gb downloaded?
Easy password sharing. You can now share the Wi-Fi password for both the primary and guest networks through the companion app.
Improved IP reservations and port forwarding setup flows.
