About this app

Voice Access helps anyone who has difficulty manipulating a touch screen (e.g. due to paralysis, tremor, or temporary injury) use their Android device by voice.

Voice Access provides many voice commands for:
- Basic navigation (e.g. "go back", "go home", "open Gmail")
- Controlling the current screen (e.g. "tap next", "scroll down")
- Text editing and dictation (e.g. "type hello", "replace coffee with tea")

You can also say "Help" any time to see a short list of commands.

Voice Access includes a tutorial which introduces the most common voice commands (starting Voice Access, tapping, scrolling, basic text editing, and getting help).

You can use the Google Assistant to start Voice Access by saying "Hey Google, Voice Access". To do this, you’ll need to enable "Hey Google" detection. You can also tap either the Voice Access notification or a blue Voice Access button and start talking.

To pause Voice Access temporarily, just say "stop listening". To disable Voice Access completely, go to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Access and turn off the switch.

For additional support, see Voice Access help.

This app uses the AccessibilityService API to help users with motor impairments. It uses the API to collect information about the controls on the screen and activate them based on the user’s spoken instructions.

Too much to learn and I'm feeling like I have to study and go over multiple tips and tricks several times before I halfway comprehend what it is to help me to retain for future use and a smoother experience when on The phone. A visual representation with step by step breakdown, simple and easy explanations needs to be included helping people like me enjoy learning these tools and tricks and less known features that'll help for an optimal experience to get to enjoy the cool perks!

The first problem is that you have to shout commands in a quiet room, which is utterly ridiculous. Gemini, Google Assistant, and Bixby all have no problem understanding speech at a normal volume. The second problem is a ridiculous delay between commands and it's showing any of the interpretation, leading to duplicate text and misunderstandings. thirdly, if I tell it to show labels and then say tap on the correct label, it taps and nothing happens. It's functionally useless.

I do not and will never use voice activated features on my phone. Since I can't uninstall this thing, I turn off auto-update and leave it alone. Every time I go to update phone apps, Voice Access has quietly updated to some arbitrary patch that's months out of date, but is months newer than previously. I won't penalize it by taking starts off, but it's...just weird. No other Google app does this. Wat.
