Very disappointing. I am reading a technical book with lots of figures, graphs and formulas. None of these is displayed in the Chrome version of the Play Books app rendering the app pretty much useless. The Android version seems to do an adequate job although formula size scaling is off. Come on Google, fix this thing!
No save to SD so useless for me and probably others. Without the ability to save to SD as supported with the Google music, film and newsstand apps this book app is useless for reading comics as trying to load one or more comics fill my remaining phone memory as some comic volume edition are over 1gb each. This should have the same storage options as the rest of the Google apps. Until then I can't even read what I have bought.
Would love for this Google app to just work but it doesn't. It's meant to self sync to other Android devices but doesn't do so consistently. I am quite good at using electronics so if I can't get it to function them most people won't be able to. I have high hopes.
I love that there is the night mode! It makes life easier lol although I don't like that it turns a weird orange tingey colour. . It hurts my eyes a bit but other than that I like the latest version as I'm a kindle kinda gal and haven't really used google books until recently. So thumps up google your doing great 🖒
Several times for reasons that are unknown to me when I've gone to read a book that I have already downloaded it warns me that I may incur charges to download. Then when I look it appears the book is no longer downloaded. I travel a lot sometimes abroad. I've never had this problem with Kindle.
I paid £6 for a book. For one day I could access the book but now all I get is an error message saying the book can't be displayed. I've refreshed it, downloaded it again, restarted my phone etc but it still won't work. I'll never buy a book from Google again. Kindle is much better
