Mike, moto e running 5.1 Using this app on my cellphone marries up my files with my Chromebook and tablet easily, but I need to be able to log out of the app when someone else uses my phone or in case we lose it or its stolen. I can log out on the Chromebook, but on android, have to remove the Google account. That's ridiculous. We need to be able to shut it down, or use pin access to enter the app. Other than that, this app just works for me and it's getting better, no problems experienced. Some accurate update notes would be nice.
You lost my documents!!! Try this: go offline, start Google drive, create new document, rename it, save it.. wait, do something else, enjoy your life.. come back online, open google drive.. the document you created is NOWHERE, lost, nada, gone forever, nobody saw it.. well thank you google for making me angry again, after doing the same with gmail, gmaps and android.. what is happening to you guys? This is not acceptable, you know everything about me, you know hoe important that document was for me...
I pay for the extra space as it seems reasonable. I had no real issue with Drive until recently. I have a high speed 64gig SD card now & I am trying to move files to it & Drive keeps quitting. I have to restart to get it to stop trying to reopen do the task. So I finally deleted the updates & reinstalled them. So here goes again
Purchased 100 extra gig to go along with 100 gig for two years from HTC offer. That plus original 15 gig adds up to 215. Guess what? Google can't do math. They took away 15gig and my total is now 200.- glad I have Datto and Box as a cloud back up for my backup. Synchronization in both directions needs work. I'm losing files.
Works very well at what it does. As for updates and all the moaning about it, you'd all be winging if they hadn't updated and you had a security scare and your family documents images etc could be at risk of loss or theft, think about that 1 for just 1 moment before complaining next time. Trust me, I don't like updating all the time, BUT I do it anyway for my own personal safety.
Samsung Galaxy S2. Works sorta okay for docx files uploaded and converted into Google Docs format. Still, not the smoothest or most enjoyable experience. The font is too small and my keyboard often doesn't want to come up in the edit window. The lack of even basic RTF and justification functions is a drawback too. All in all, not totally bad, but not the first app I go to for documents.
