Works great for basic documents, except when working with local files. For local files, local saves get incremental numbers appended. These pile up until I delete them and rename the latest. It also makes it harder to switch between apps that have different strengths, because I need to make sure to choose the most recent version from the pile. This has been a problem already, so once so far, I had to use Word on my laptop to compare documents and merge changes from 2 versions.

As a writer, the option to use the chapters menu on the right to quickly locate a section of the document to write/edit was a key feature for me, but now it no longer works consistently, despite trying it on multiple mobile devices. I'm going to switch to another editing program soon if it doesn't get corrected. The app is barely functional at this point and has constantly had problems since July of 2022 for me.

As a writer, I use Google Docs constantly. It's simple to use and the interface works fine for what I need it to do. But for the past MANY months, I've had issues with shared documents crashing, claiming it can't sync changes and making me revert, suddenly not allowing me to edit the document anymore, and the whole app simply giving up on loading certain documents. Update: my old phone was ancient. I now have a Google Pixel 7. The app still sucks. I'm removing a star just for that.
